Rush Limbaugh seems to be doing the lobby’s work

Rush Limbaugh calls for "massive bombing raids," and "war" with Iran.

Recall the flattering RL profile by Israeli-American Zev Chafets in the New York Times Magazine. Limbaugh is marching ahead of the AIPAC congressional resolutions on Iran, and query: what accounts for his timing? The congressional Republicans have barely started in on this. Yet Israel has never let up and it fears (cf. Peter Beinart) the Af/Pak commitment means no-go Iran. How deep are Limbaugh’s ties to the lobby?

Wonderful. Wash, rinse, repeat. Or so the neocons think — if the US and Israel go to war with Iran (and at this point, we’re effectively joined at the hip) it will spell the end of the United States, at least as a hegemonic superpower.

MY COMMENT: I suppose every cloud has its ‘silver lining’. If the worst should happen (Iran is bombed), I will certainly look forward to the consolation (the end of the United States…as a hegemonic superpower).

    • if one may bounce off Dickerson’s post, not unlikely RL is just sticking to the script; for sure, neocondom is pulling out all the stops to ramp up war on Iran. Yesterday Michael Posner got 30 minutes of C Span airtime to spout anti-Iran propaganda; today, Eli Berman played his part.

In both instances, once again, some Americans pushed back against the pro-Israel agenda. Those callers who supported the hawkish views of the interviewees echoed the same lies they had just been fed: “Iran has pledged to wipe Israel off the map.”

Ignorance makes hasbara too easy; at least give these propagandists a run for their money, won’t you please, my fellow Amurikuns?

if we make war w/iran the end of US supremacy might be the least of our worries. it would be the least of mine anyway. all hell would break loose in the middle east.
    michael ledeen’s wet dream.

One can only hope that we turn the region into a cauldron, and faster, please

    • RE: “Faster, please”

Faster…faster….faster….FASTER…FASTER, GODDAMMIT….oh….oh….ugh….uhm….[exhale loudly] Thanks. That was great. Can I bum a cigarette off ya?

P.S. Ledeen’s getting a bit old for ‘wet dreams’. Oh, I see. You were speaking figuratively/metaphorically; weren’t you?
