The "Lobby for Jewish Values" in Israel is pushing for a boycott of restaurants and hotels that put up Christmas trees. Some rabbis are down with it. There’s a quote about the "Jewish soul" and Torah I couldn’t get to the end of… h/t Eva Smagacz

    Weird that we continue to fund the “Jewish state” with $3 billion in tax dollars. Isn’t there an argument that if Israel insists on being called the Jewish state, we have to cut off funding? What about separation of church and state, huh? Where’s the ACLU when you need them . . . oh, wait . . . er, never mind! They’re too busy trying to destroy Christmas in the US.

    More discrimination against Christian Israelis. This is what “Jewish state” means – intolerance. The people who tout Israel for the “freedom to be Jewish” will discover if they go there that there is no freedom to be Jewish except in the most narrow, fanatical way.

    What happened to the “antiwar” members of Congress?

    Only 12 voted against new sanctions on Iran, 3 of them Republicans. 412 voted in favor.

    Here is the honor roll who voted against:

    Kuncinich and Paul laid out how strangling Iraninan oil imports is exactly the wrong thing to do and will harm the USA dramatically, and strengthen Iran’s elite rulers while
    harming Iran’s masses.

    Remember how FDR cut off Japan’s oil supplies; followed by Pearl Harbor?
    Berman’s passed bill contained all the arguments used to invade Iraq.

    Our own congress is setting us up for war with Iran.
