I can’t remember what either of them sound like, but on the whole the human voice is not a musical instrument and should not be used as one. Women’s voices are usually worse than men’s because they are usually higher pitched and have screechier overtones, but that doesn’t mean that male singers are anything other than a pain in the sinuses.

I’ve been listening to human voices singing in a wide variety of Western and Eastern popular and formal styles for sixty-six years. Most of it sounded pretty bad. The human voice raised in song is usually an unpleasant sound. It should only be used for Shakespeare and RoHa’s pontifications.

Hmmm… if the main goal is peace and two states, wouldn’t it make the most sense to sing at a fundraiser for a group dedicated to reconciling the two sides, rather than a fundraiser for one of the sides’ militaries, which is already the 4th strongest army in the world?
If the rare singing performance is for fundraising for the army, then doesn’t that mean they really believe that while peace and reconciliation are good, the most important thing is to further strengthen the super-powerful army?
In other words, reconciling the sides is good, but it’s much more important to dominate with much stronger force.
However, I think that people who believe most in equality, peace and reconciling should give greater priority to groups dedicated primarily to those goals.
This has ruined my Streisand listening. I don’t think talent trumps obviously fucked up ethics.

A few years ago I had the misfortune of seeing that barbara woman at a Malibu restaurant (I live in Los Angeles where random ‘hollywood moments’ are the norm).
She sat at a round table with 3 other women. What distinguished her from the other ladies was that she looked like a shrimp next to 3 lobsters, despite her signature BIG hairdo which is usually worn to give off the illusion of ‘tallness’. Perhaps she’s slightly taller than Napoleon, I found myself quietly thinking. And I gotta tell ya too that her hair was sooo excruciatingly perfectly styled that it actually looked fake – like the hair of a wax statue.
At some point our eyes did meet across the restaurant and no neither of us smiled.
Burrrrrrh shudder the gaze of the ice queen (talking ’bout myself here hahahaha!). I sure don’t see barbara as a queen, more like the janitor for the idf. And her songs are as cheezy as Barry Manilow’s ugh!
