Happy New Year, dimadok. Happy New Year to the fellowship. And also to hophni, DBG, eee, DEBKAfile, and all of your fellow brothers and sisters. All sarcasm aside, let’s seriously all try to understand each other this year, see where each side is coming from. Try not to use low-level tricks or personal attacks. Hear one and other out. We’re all human after all, brothers and sisters. We just have superficial differences and different perceptions.
Tough to understand sociopaths, psychopaths and psychopathic cultures
I try not to view them as sociopaths. They’re very dedicated to their views, which we view as wrong- but they were born and raised in a belief system and I think its very difficult to recognize faults in your belief structure- especially when it’s so tightly wound with your own identity.
I think every non Zionist Jew recognizes where the pro-Israel side comes from, we have family and friends who are Zionist, and until we had our own personal awakenings, most of us even shared these beliefs at some point.
But when you are more than willing to watch others be killed for your loyalty to Israel then what would you call these individuals. I call them socio psychopaths

So dedicated they won’t give their real names or any of the facts about themselves? You are, to put it bluntly, a complete fool if you take them seriously, and representative of anything except the quite normal desire of criminals to keep what they’ve got.

Slightly off topic but I’m excited about this. The Australian Broadcasting Corporation – the government owned national broadcaster of Australia – is usually pretty pro-Israel in its reporting of the Middle East at least on radio. I could go on at length about this but unless someone challenges the assertion I’ll leave it at that. This morning the NewsRadio station of the ABC had a report by an Al Jazeera reporter (usually ABC gets its ME reports from NYT or WaPo – at least it’s not Fox) on a tour company called Green Olive:

The company takes tourists around the West Bank to visit Palestinian and Settler communities. The ABC actually mentioned the conditions of the Palestinians – and their wonderful hospitality – and talks about the Settler violence on the West Bank without the usual crap about “Hamas Militants”. It was all too brief but a step in the right direction as I hope 2012 will be.
Something to think about this New Year.
