I don’t know how anyone can lecture the Palestinian Diaspora, which was dispossessed in recent memory, for holding up keys to their property in Jaffa and wanting a say in any plans for Israel/Palestine, when we get this sort of religious extremism from a so-called mainstream Jewish organization. The ADL has come out strongly against the Knesset conversion bill that all the liberal Zionists hate too.
As a Jewish State, decisions regarding conversion do not just affect citizens of Israel, but Jews worldwide. Be it in fact, or in perception, the changes called for in the Rotem Bill have led many Jews in the Diaspora to feel disenfranchised from their historic homeland.
