Boston Marathon bombings unleash a new wave of Islamophobia

It’s happening again: another collective freakout steeped in Islamophobia. The Boston Marathon bombings have unleashed the anti-Muslim sentiment that bubbles under the surface and always shines bright in times of national hysteria. The current wave of Islamophobia the country is perpetuating and experiencing–and it’s only the beginning–is the first since the Park 51 fracas in 2010.

The news that the main suspects in the bombing are Chechen Muslims will fuel the ugly hate that has intensified since September 11. But the hate was unleashed immediately after the attack, even before the public knew that Muslims were involved. How little is needed for the brash and bigoted side of this country to come out swinging against the “Muslim enemy” we have been been so trained to fear.

It’s very easy to see the most blatant manifestations of the ugly phenomenon of Islamophobia, which casts collective blame on all Muslims. The right-wing is always the place to start. But it’s also emanating from our mainstream institutions and figures, where it’s a little more difficult to identify the Islamophobia. It’s there, though. Powerful institutions and figures are focusing on Muslims and trying to justify even more animus and surveillance targeting the Muslim community in the United States.

Let’s begin with the easiest of places: the Islamophobic media. The New York Post led the charge on this front. In the immediate hours after the Boston attack, the Rupert Murdoch-owned tabloid fingered a “Saudi national” who was injured in the blast as a suspect. It turns out he had nothing to do with the attack.

The other easy place to see anti-Muslim hate is, of course, the Islamophobic blogosphere. Pamela Geller went from freaking out about the Saudi to freaking out about two innocent people featured on the Post’s front page to freaking out about a missing university student to finally arriving at where everybody else is: freaking out about the Chechen suspects. What tied them all together was they all looked “Muslimy,” the term Wajahat Ali aptly used in Salon, and denotes how Muslims have become racialized in this country. There was also Steve Emerson, the faux terror “expert” welcomed by AIPAC with open arms, who opined about the “Saudi national” on television, as Ali Gharib documented.

And then there are the anti-Muslim hate crimes. ColorLines has chronicled some of them. They include: a white man punching a Palestinian woman who wears a hijab in Massachusetts; and Latino men beating up a Bangladeshi in the Bronx because he looked “Arab.”

But how easy anti-Muslim sentiment migrates over into the mainstream. Sure, this form of Islamophobia is not as blatant as Pam Geller’s. But it’s just as dangerous–if not more so, since more people imbibe what the mainstream tells them.

The mainstream media is busy speculating about whether Islam played a role in the decision to blow up the bombs at the Boston marathon. I heard one reporter ask the uncle of the suspects whether they were “radicalized” in a local mosque, apparently not knowing that the vast majority of mosques in the nation are nowhere near “radical.” This is the soft bigotry the mainstream is engaging in.

Another culprit that has bought into Islamophobia, and therefore legitimizing it, is law enforcement. Return back to the Saudi national story. As The New Yorker’s Amy Davidson writes, “he was the only one who, while in the hospital being treated for his wounds, had his apartment searched in ‘a startling show of force,’ as his fellow-tenants described it to the Boston Herald, with a ‘phalanx’ of officers and agents and two K9 units.” Davidson goes on to ask: “Why the search, the interrogation, the dogs, the bomb squad, and the injured man’s name tweeted out, attached to the word ‘suspect’?” The question answers itself. He was Saudi. He was Arab. That’s enough for a lot of people, including law enforcement. It speaks volumes that the only injured person to have his home searched by law enforcement was the Saudi national.

Finally, let’s look at the man who runs the city that suffered the nation’s most catastrophic terrorist attack. Mayor Michael Bloomberg sought to reassure New York City in the aftermath of the Boston attacks. But he ended up exploiting the attacks for his own political purposes. At a press conference on Tuesday, he crassly said: “The moment that we let our guard down, the moment we get complacent, the moment we allow special interests to shape our security strategies, is the moment that the terrorists are waiting for. As a country, we may not be able to thwart every attack. We saw that yesterday. But we must do everything we possibly can to try.”

“Security strategies.” It doesn’t take a genius to figure out that Bloomberg is referring to the New York Police Department’s tactic of spying on Muslim communities with no regard as to whether people are innocent or guilty of any crime. Don’t get complacent: stop criticizing the NYPD, the mayor says. They’re doing their job, and their job is to map Muslim communities, eavesdrop on conversations and catalog innocent people in police documents related to terrorism. And those “special interests”? That’s a clear as day reference to the Muslims who are fighting back against the spy program and to the allies who have joined them in that fight.

What Bloomberg doesn’t acknowledge is that the police department itself has admitted in court that their surveillance program has not stopped a single act of terrorism. Not one. Which begs the question: how can the “security strategies” Bloomberg is defending help prevent the next Boston? They can’t. But Bloomberg wants to justify a program that is Islamophobic at its core.

So here we are, nearly 12 years after September 11 unleashed a new wave of anti-Muslim hate. 44 percent of Americans say they have an “unfavorable” view of Muslims, according to a recent poll–and that was before the Boston bombings. How little has changed.

      Oleg, are you for real??

If these young men are the perpetrators, acting alone or on behalf of others, their supposed religion is NOT the story.

What might be the real story behind their insanity is the separtist Chechen cause.

Chechen, like Degastan, is a weak Russian Republic, glued to Russia by force. Both stand in the way between oil riches and the Western friendly states, Georgia and Turkey.

Georgia gets tons of military support from Israel and the U S.

Wouldn’t it be just swell for the UK, US and Israel to get into Chechenia?

Religion had nada to do with what this is all about. It is being used, as always, as a tool and diversion to move the masses in a direction.

      Get real.

In follow up: The bombing, which some of the media is straining to make the Mooooslim connection, the support of the Chechen separatists by Elliot Abrams, Richard Perl and others is an angle to explore.

“….in the US, the leading group which pleads the Chechen cause is the American Committee for Peace in Chechnya (ACPC). The list of the self-styled “distinguished Americans” who are its members is a rollcall of the most prominent neoconservatives who so enthusastically support the “war on terror”.

“They include Richard Perle, the notorious Pentagon adviser; Elliott Abrams of Iran-Contra fame; Kenneth Adelman, the former US ambassador to the UN who egged on the invasion of Iraq by predicting it would be “a cakewalk”; Midge Decter, biographer of Donald Rumsfeld and a director of the rightwing Heritage Foundation; Frank Gaffney of the militarist Centre for Security Policy; Bruce Jackson, former US military intelligence officer and one-time vice-president of Lockheed Martin, now president of the US Committee on Nato; Michael Ledeen of the American Enterprise Institute, a former admirer of Italian fascism and now a leading proponent of regime change in Iran; and R James Woolsey, the former CIA director who is one of the leading cheerleaders behind George Bush’s plans to re-model the Muslim world along pro-US lines.”

No of course not, (neither would I) but when it comes to Muslims you’re all gun-ho to tar all with the same brush. As I’ve said before the well spring for modern Islamophobia is Zionism and Zionists. All to help dehumanise the peoples they have repeatedly wronged.

      @ Oleg

You are always stepping in your own [email protected]

‘The Jewish Defense League (JDL) is a Jewish militant organization whose stated goal is to “protect Jews from antisemitism by whatever means necessary”.[1] While the group asserts that it “unequivocally condemns terrorism” and states that it has a “strict no-tolerance policy against terrorism and other felonious acts,”[2] it was described as “a right-wing terrorist group” by the FBI in 2001.[3][4] According to the FBI, the JDL has been involved in plotting and executing numerous acts of terrorism within the United States.[3]

Founded by Rabbi Meir Kahane in New York City in 1968, JDL’s self-described purpose was to protect Jews from local manifestations of antisemitism.[1][5] Its criticism of the Soviet Union garnered support for the group, transforming it from a “vigilante club” into an organization with stated membership numbering over 15,000 at one point.[6] The group took to bombing Arab and Soviet properties in the United States,[7] and targeting various alleged “enemies of the Jewish people”, ranging from Arab-American political activists to neo-Nazis, for assassination.[8] A number of JDL members have been linked to violent, and sometimes deadly, attacks in the United States and in other countries, including the murder of American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee regional director Alex Odeh in 1985, the Cave of the Patriarchs massacre in 1994, and a plot to assassinate Congressman Darrell Issa in 2001”

So tell me, would you like for us to be not ‘pc’ and reasonable about your terrorist too and demonize all of you? Okie dokey…we can all join the Aryan and right wing Christan groups who want a ‘all Christan and Ayran country’ and toss all of you out of the pot.
Better be careful what you promote …..cause once you start this kind of thing it can go further than you think.

RE: “According to the FBI, the JDL has been involved in plotting and executing numerous acts of terrorism within the United States.” ~ American

[EXCEPTS] Alex Odeh (April 4, 1944 – October 11, 1985) was an Arab-American anti-discrimination activist who was killed in a bombing as he opened the door of his office at 1905 East 17th Street, Santa Ana, California. Odeh was west-coast regional director of the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee (ADC).
Born into a Palestinian Christian family in Jifna, the West Bank, Odeh immigrated to the US in 1972.[1] He was a lecturer and poet who recently had published a volume of his poetry, “Whispers in Exile”.[2]…
. . . Irv Rubin, who had become chairman of the Jewish Defense League (JDL) the same year, immediately made several public statements in reaction to the incident. “I have no tears for Mr. Odeh,” Rubin said. “He got exactly what he deserved.”[7] . . .
. . . Four weeks after Odeh’s death, FBI spokesperson Lane Bonner stated the FBI attributed the bombing and two others to the JDL . . .
. . . Immediately after the 1985 assassination the FBI identified three suspects, all of them believed to be affiliated with the JDL, who fled to Israel.
In 1987 it was revealed that Israel was hindering the FBI investigation. Floyd Clarke, then assistant director of the FBI, claimed in an internal memo that key suspects had fled to Israel and were living in the West Bank town of Kiryat Arba. . .
. . . In 2007, the FBI revealed they had received information from a deceased informant, believed to be former Jewish Defense League member Earl Krugel who had been sentenced to 20 years in federal prison for 2001 plots to bomb a Southern California mosque and office of an Arab American congressman. It is believed that Irv Rubin, who died in prison while awaiting trial on the same charges, revealed to Krugel the names of those responsible for Odeh’s death and Krugel shared those with the FBI before he, too, died in prison. The bombers are believed to be Manning and two individuals now living in Israel.[14] . . .

What mosque did these two go to?

What were their views on the West and America and blah blah vis a vis Islam?

We know little to nothing about them as Muslims.

Only one of the brothers was born ‘over there’ – Dagestan.

And the younger one has only been praised by people who knew him (except his uncle, who last saw him when he was a little kid).

These kids were radicalized for sure, but the younger one was probably influenced by his brother.

    ● RE: “[T]he moment we allow special interests to shape our security strategies, is the moment that the terrorists are waiting for.” ~ Bloomberg

    ● SPEAKING OF THE U.S. ALLOWING “SPECIAL INTERESTS” TO SHAPE OUR SECURITY STRATEGIES, the NRA is making common cause with Israel and the pro-Israel lobby. I saw David Keene, “El Presidente” of the NRA on the boob sh-t screen and he said that when the December shooting at the school in Newtown, Connecticut (the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting) occurred he just happened to be (surprise, surprise**) in Israel. It was from Israel that he got the idea that there should be a policeman at each and every school in the U.S.* (like they have in Israel).
This is yet another reason I fear that Revisionist Zionism and Likudnik Israel (specifically by virtue of their inordinate sway over the U.S.) might very well be an “existential threat” to the values of The Enlightenment.
I do not want to live in a police/garrison state like Israel! ! !

AND HERE’S THE NRA’S CHIEF ‘HIRED ASSASSIN’ “LUCKY (LA) PIERRE” : “NRA calls for armed police officer in every school”, By Phillip Elliott and Nedra Pickler, Associated Press, 12/21/12

[EXCERPT] . . . The nation’s largest gun-rights lobby broke its weeklong silence on the shooting rampage at Sandy Hook Elementary School with a defiant presentation. The event was billed as a news conference, but NRA leaders took no questions. Twice, they were interrupted by banner-waving protesters, who were removed by security.
Some had predicted that after the slaughter of a score of elementary-school children by a man using a semi-automatic rifle, the group might soften its stance, at least slightly. Instead, LaPierre delivered a 25-minute tirade against the notion that another gun law would stop killings in a culture where children are exposed daily to violence in video games, movies and music videos. He argued that guns are the solution, not the problem.
‘‘Before Congress reconvenes, before we engage in any lengthy debate over legislation, regulation or anything else; as soon as our kids return to school after the holiday break, we need to have every single school in America immediately deploy a protection program proven to work,’’ LaPierre said. ‘‘And by that I mean armed security.’’
He said Congress should immediately appropriate funds to post an armed police officer in every school. . .

Something stinks about this. 2 bombs went off and only 3 people died? Are those so called ‘retarded towel heads’ that much better @ prepping explosives and killing 10x more people in a single blast? AQ sends in suicide bombers to maximize the death toll, so they can be ruled out. That leaves us with what?

A post at Moon Of Alabama indicates that the FBI knew about the Chechens. There were told about them and their radicalization by the Russians. The FBI investigated them and their family.

The author ‘b’ asks some very relevant questions:

Did the FBI try to “turn” or entrap him like it did with so many other nuts?
      If not why not?
If they did turn him did he do their bidding or was he running as a double agent?

Regarding Craft, an early video of the blast taken by someone in a building near the blast site show this man running away whilst everyone else is crouching in shock. He lack of shock strikes me as the actions of someone who has prior experience of exposure to bomb blasts.

        @ Egbert,

Roughly 25 years ago, whilst directing a theater play I’d written about SA’s ghettos, I had to remind the actors to act less indifferently when bombs went off. Them having read and understood the script is one thing, acting naturally when unexpected events occur, mainly depends on their experience of what’s real in the ‘real’ world they’ve become to know as ‘their reality as perceived through living their lives.’

Fear isn’t scripted. It’s raw and ruthless.

They shot and killed 1 suspect and shot and wounded a 2nd one. So this is what $3 trillion worth of booga-booga horse shit buys us? Blood smears found on the hull of a boat? A 1-hour shootout with the ‘suspect?’

I’m so sick and tired of all the BS I’m confronted with on a daily bases, that it’s hard to even open up my browser to read mails and do business via the internet.

In the name of all those faceless victims we should remain vigilant, alert and expose any and all lies we come across [regardless where they originate from].

My biological dad told me to ‘always follow my gut instinct,’ to ‘turn my brain into a suitcase,’ to ‘combine intellect with common sense’ and to ‘treat all others as equals,’ for one day ‘they might have to save my skin.’

I used to go to an airport an hour before take off, buy a ticket and fly somewhere else. I haven’t done so for a while now.

[EXCERPTS] . . . In the wake of the Cold War, the Central Asian region is not only strategic for its extensive oil reserves, it also produces three quarters of the World’s opium representing multibillion dollar revenues to business syndicates, financial institutions, intelligence agencies and organized crime. . .
. . . With the disintegration of the Soviet Union, a new surge in opium production has unfolded. . .
The [Pakistani] ISI’s extensive intelligence military-network was not dismantled in the wake of the Cold War. The CIA continued to support the Islamic “jihad” out of Pakistan. New undercover initiatives were set in motion in Central Asia, the Caucasus and the Balkans. Pakistan’s military and intelligence apparatus essentially “served as a catalyst for the disintegration of the Soviet Union and the emergence of six new Muslim republics in Central Asia.” 16.
Meanwhile, Islamic missionaries of the Wahhabi sect from Saudi Arabia had established themselves in the Muslim republics as well as within the Russian federation encroaching upon the institutions of the secular State. Despite its anti-American ideology, Islamic fundamentalism was largely serving Washington’s strategic interests in the former Soviet Union.
Following the withdrawal of Soviet troops in 1989, the civil war in Afghanistan continued unabated. The Taliban were being supported by the Pakistani Deobandis and their political party the Jamiat-ul-Ulema-e-Islam (JUI). . .
. . . In other words, backed by Pakistan’s military intelligence (ISI) which in turn was controlled by the CIA, the Taliban Islamic State was largely serving American geopolitical interests. . .

. . . [T]he involvement of Pakistan’s ISI in Chechnya “goes far beyond supplying the Chechens with weapons and expertise: the ISI and its radical Islamic proxies are actually calling the shots in this war”. 22
Russia’s main pipeline route transits through Chechnya and Dagestan. Despite Washington’s perfunctory condemnation of Islamic terrorism, the indirect beneficiaries of the Chechen war are the Anglo-American oil conglomerates which are vying for control over oil resources and pipeline corridors out of the Caspian Sea basin. . .
. . . While the Mujahideen are busy fighting America’s war in the Balkans and the former Soviet Union, the FBI –operating as a US based Police Force- is waging a domestic war against terrorism, operating in some respects independently of the CIA which has –since the Soviet-Afghan war– supported international terrorism through its covert operations.
In a cruel irony, while the Islamic jihad –featured by the Bush Adminstration as “a threat to America”– is blamed for the terrorist assaults on the World Trade Centre and the Pentagon, these same Islamic organisations constitute a key instrument of US military-intelligence operations in the Balkans and the former Soviet Union. . .

During the 2008 financial crisis, drug money was the primary source of bank liquidity: “Drugs money worth billions of dollars kept the financial system afloat at the height of the global crisis, the United Nations’ drugs and crime tsar has told the Observer.”

How convenient for the world’s most notorious Islamophobes and the Islamophobe state who wants to attack Iran! Now because of this Marathon bombing and internationally-viral Muslim manhunt marathon, Muslim hatred will return to an all-time high and these notorious Islamophobes will have no problem justifying their continuing war on Islam and making palatable another massive slaughter of Muslims to the ignorant masses.

    It’s this easy:

Entrapment: U.S. intelligence services spy on a Muslim of any stripe or an Islamophobe fingers a Muslim to them who appears disillusioned with American morality and barbaric acts perpetrated by the U.S. in Muslim countries. This Muslim is then approached and befriended by “sympathetic, like-minded individuals” who pretend to “speak his language”, fanning the flames of rage, gaining his trust and flashing resources in his face. These new “friends” then lure him into a “gotcha” plot by providing material, and if necessary for an ultimate end: venue, training and means to carry it out.

False flag: Of course the disenchanted Muslims of any stripe might also be approached by foreign operatives in a similar manner to provide a perfect cover for a false flag operation staged by a foreign country to move American public opinion to support a foreign agenda by merely pointing the way while the Muslim individuals commit the crime themselves which will in turn again create fertile ground with the public for that foreign country’s agenda to be executed without the slightest resistance.

Location, Location, Location: And note of course how these Muslim terrorists always seem to pick majority-liberal cities where Islamophobia is not as high and the war incentive, very low. In other words by staging these terrorist acts in Liberal Country, EVERYONE on the right AND THE LEFT ENDS UP ON BOARD WITH THE PROGRAM, especially with the help of the enabling mainstream who then take over to further inculcate fear and loathing of Muslims.

Media collusion: And predictably, the tube indoctrination is happening exactly NOW and the masses are cheering and lapping it up.

You are right on, Kalithea. When I heard this story, I started to wonder, “for what purpose was this false flag operation run?” Then I heard about Putin’s phone call of “sympathy” to Obama, and I began to wonder about why the US would want Russia’s support. For what reason? And the most obvious one is that it would be very useful to have if we attack Iran.
I really think the only reason that the US has not cottoned to the wishes of its Zionist masters in Jerusalem yet is out of fear of (1) Russia and (2) China. Of course, we need China to bash North Korea, so we really have to tread softly with them. But having a false flag operation involving Chechen Muslims would certainly give us some useful political capital (ah, yes! CAPITAL) with Russia.

And BTW I agree totally with the rest of your scenario about ENTRAPMENT, also.

People panic when these things happen including law enforcement, I would say. They scramble for answers. And secular Arabs born Muslim are appalled when they hear such stories as do visibly Muslim or religious Muslims who don’t feel connection to such radicalized views. Unfortunately, many Americans don’t understand the differences between Muslims and just see that Muslims did it and there’s often some kind of ideology based on interpretation of religion going on. The media should educate people more about Islam and Muslims, and countries with radical clerics should keep tabs on them and videos with radicals should be removed from the internet, period.

Indeed according to his mother, he talked to the BI for at least ‘3-5 years’ , and they surveilled his internet regularly, they ‘controlled every step of him” . In 2011? he was interviewed foromally by the FBI at the request of a ‘foreign government’ for his possible links to a terror organization abroad . The question of how was he radicalized and did the Mosque do it assumes a. their attacks were religiously inspired(this has not been established)-ie did David Berkowitz’ religion inspire his murders or his belief that a rabid dog instructed him to kill, and b. assuming that their attacks were religiously inspired an American Mosque is not the place for such radicalization to fester(the internet probably would be).

Yes, the brothers were Muslim, but the entire thing looks strange and bizarre to be a religiously inspired event. It looks as weird as the batman murders. How does killing marathon runners, spectators further any type of goals? It looks to me that the older brother was off his rocker and led his more impressionable brother into mayhem.

In retrospect, you could see the goals of the 9/11 attackers, but what possible goal would an attack on a marathon accomplish? It is every bit as weird as the Batman attacks. I feel very sorry for these brothers uncle.

      I am with biorabbi here.

There are thousands of suicides every year, and this is not the realm of normal psychology. I am not saying that the brothers were insane, but the concepts like “achieving goals” do not fit to this kind of situation. More precisely, the goal included the death of the perpetrators and some kind of “good bye cruel world” which is not the way we usually think.

This is of course speculation, but the bombs were obviously well made, so the preparation was careful, but there was no attempt of making good disguises, and the final battle seems to be provoked.

Hypothesis based on the Oakland Bank and NY Fed resrv FBI informant bombing set ups, informant led foiled plots.

The two suspects were being observed by the sniper merc group, Craft international , who were adjacent to the bombing location and pulled back before detonation. I have not seen any mention of Craft in msm yet. some more photos of Craft:

These two young men were excellent athletes, boxing and wrestling leadership roles, evidently underemployed, and the eldest was in contact, according to family, with the FBI for years. Their foreign language expertise and physical fitness would recomend them to a group like Craft International, possibly as participants in the Craft bombing drill which occurred prior to the bombing, or concurrently. Their facebook friends describe them as avid marijuana enthusiasts, clean shaven, organized the oppsoite of the mentally ill framed patsy in the Oakland case, and defintely not salafi religious social outcasts.

The drill us using live explosives and something sets of the bombs, Their backpacks shown in the FBI videos could not hold a circular large pressure cooker stuffed with explosives and ball bearings without being clearly visible and noticably heavy , sliding the weight down on their backs. The suspect backbacks appeared light and relatively thin.

So someone sets the bombs off. No reporting whatsoever on how these kids could construct a sophisticated electronic trigger, and where they would get the circuit board, blasting cap, explosives, and put them together.

The police reporters say they killed an MIT cop sitting in a car, why? perhaps they wanted all of Boston PD after them to kill them? not likely. They are alleged to hijack a Mercedes and collect 800 dollars from an atm, the atm photos also show no disguise or apparent hiding of idenity. They let the mercedes driver go and we have no interview of this person yet. Was the mercedes driver linked to their possible employer Craft international ?

There is a car chase and explosives are heard, as well as gun shots. But the adui sounds like police flash grenades, and there is no apparent back and forth in the shooting audio, instead repeated shots as if at a range, or many guns firing as in a barrage of police man (remember there is two alleged shooter shooting back, and we dont here this).

The first brother is killed allgedly with a suicide vest Inot a police flash greenade?) as he suicde charges the police.

The second is found in a boat , by the boat owner? The police come, shoot the boat with holes and then wait for him to die, but he doesnt, not yet anyway.

No forensic evidence yet of guns held by the suspects, their grenades or pipe bombs, their electronics lab and circuit diagrams, and their family claims theyve never been to chechnya, and were anti Jihadi. Their facebook

Their sisters computer with their emails was seized nby the FBI, who they had been talking to for years.

A foreign government two years ago claimed they were tied to a foreign terrorist organiztion, Chechens in Hams or hezbollah ?

The only possible explanation is the FBI modus operandi in Oakland NY. But the drill / undercover operation went seriousl wrong, it ws compromised into soemthing else by someone inside the surveilance/ drill. fake bomb plots

Thanks for this post. Glad it made it through moderation. I am not familiar with all the details you mention here, but have seen enough to strongly suspect this was engineered by elements within the government (albeit, possibly with loyalties to some other government).

I wouldn’t hold my breath waiting for the MSM to say anything about the individuals in the Craft uniforms.

Anyway, we’ve seen the conjunction of drills with terrorist events before (mostly notably 7/7, 9/11, and the Breivak attacks, but there are other examples). We’ve seen the suspects who turn out to have been in touch with an FBI informant or who were otherwise under FBI surveillance. We’ve seen the FBI and the MSM tidy up the official narrative, eliminating mention of other possible suspects, for instance.

Anyway, it amazes me that so many, like children, continue to swallow what the FBI gives them, despite the FBI’s sordid history.

If you are a Muslim and the FBI asks you to participate in a drill, run the other way as fast as you can. We know the drill.

I told my wife that the Israelis and their supporters will be planting stories that the Boston marathon bombers were helped by Iran. She thought I was being paranoid.

Of course it makes no sense at all: Chechnya is a Sunni Moslem region, while Iranians are nearly all Shia Moslems. And Sunnis and Shia branches of Islam are like Protestants and Catholics within Christianity: they don’t agree, on fundamentals. To Catholics, the Pope is God’s representative on Earth. To Protestants, the Pope is nobody special. Some Protestants think the Pope is the Anti-Christ.

An analogy: would the KKK and the Irish Republican Army (IRA) cooperate?
Both have used terrorism. But the KKK is anti-Catholic (also anti-black and anti-Jewish), while the IRA is Irish Catholic.

The FBI did indeed interview the suspects in 2011 at the request of a “foreign” government.

Are we supposed to believe they just dropped the ball AGAIN and dropped them from their radar? Are we supposed to believe they didn’t view them as the perfect patsies for either entrapment/foiled terror attack, or false flag/”switch to live” attack or “just let them loose attack” timed during periods of waning terronoia and often carried out in “liberal country” to get liberals back on board with the continuing war on terror?

The FBI foiled the plot (i.e. set-up) in February 2012 of a suspect en route to launch a terror attack on the U.S. Capital. No doubt this was a sting amounting to entrapment. The venue was great, but the terronoia effect was limited by healthy skepticism for a change.

So a better plan was needed and perhaps it was already in the works. Why would the FBI just shelve the case of these Boston suspects in 2011 when there were signs that the older suspect was railing against American morality and moving in the direction of religious fundamentalism? I wonder if he was already on their radar BEFORE 2011.

The FBI has been playing this game for some time now and they’ve surely honed their “craft” since then. Speaking of CRAFT, why were those private security contractors spotted at the finish line before the bombing there? Normal procedure?Doubtful.

Let’s backtrack in time, because the “baiting” started in the 1990s:

“The informer was to have helped the plotters build the bomb and supply the fake powder, but the plan was called off by an F.B.I. supervisor who had other ideas about how the informer, Emad A. Salem, should be used, the informer said.

The account, which is given in the transcript of hundreds of hours of tape recordings Mr. Salem secretly made of his talks with law-enforcement agents, portrays the authorities as in a far better position than previously known to foil the Feb. 26 bombing of New York City’s tallest towers.”

The mother of the suspects who claimed that the FBI had been in touch with her sons and were monitoring her sons was telling the truth after all, and we should remain very skeptical about what really transpired during those years the older son was “changing” and whether “friendly” operatives had introduced themselves to the suspects to gain their confidence to provide means and opportunity.

““My son would never do this. It is a set-up,” the woman continued in her interview with RT. “He was controlled by FBI for like, three, five years. They knew what my son was doing. They knew what actions and what sites on the Internet he was going. He used to come home, they used to come and talk to me. They used to tell me that, you know, that they are controlling his – they were telling me that he’s really a serious leader and they’re afraid of him. They said, they told me that whatever he is, whatever country decides, whatever is there, whatever information he’s getting, they are controlling him, so how could this happen?”

Yes indeed!: HOW COULD THIS HAPPEN?

Timing, location and motive is what we should be looking at:

Motive/Timing: terronoia and Islamophobia, especially among liberals has been on the wane, and war fatigue is predominating when escalation in Syria and war with Iran is in the works. A radical turn around was required.
Location: Massachusetts, ie “liberal country”, couldn’t be more perfect.

Think about the mood of the masses pre-9/11 and how radically it changed after that. Terronoia was heightened to such a frenzy that it made marching into Iraq and Afghanistan a cakewalk. Maybe this will make more war with Islam i.e. the continuing war on terror a little more palatable to the sheeple.

The suspects just happened to live in the right place; the timing couldn’t be better and the marathon was the perfect venue for a sensational effect; so why mess with a “great” plan?

Fox News is braying about Muslim terrorists right now apropos the Boston bombing suspects. Repeating an “officially unnamed foreign government” tipped the FBI off re the Boston bombers. Steve Pomerantz, former FBI assistant director, who ran the counter-terrorism division, being interviewed. Was the information Russian-based? Nobody knows right now. “Now the FBI will cast the net far and wide,” says Pomerantz. I’m sure glad I’m not any non-Jewish American who comes from anywhere other than EU, Canada, UK. Now Fox News is showing Boston celebration, singing star-spangled banner, etc, that “note of patriotism that binds us together. Feiz Mohammed discussed in quick sequence re bomber’s inspiration. Interviewing another expert. Says Bin Laden talked in abstract language, but Mohammed speaks of killing jews directly, killing them as enemies of Islam. So Fox News is conflating killing non-Jews in Boston with killing Jews. This media take fits right in with conflating US and Israel’s best interests. Who’s more an arm of the US government than Fox News? OK, OK, I mean on the foreign policy front because Fox News is not MSNBC when it comes to spending money on which Americans here at home.

Around the same time a Sri Lankan acquaintance (better friends with some of my close friends) at Drexel University reported being called a terrorist, or something along those lines. Yeah, and this was in Philadelphia, not some small remote town somewhere. Some of it is due to the way the public is indoctrinated, but I also think there is a small percentage of the (adult) population that simply looks for an excuse to bully someone. If they can hide behind “righteous,” patriotic indignation, so much the better, from their point of view.

Just like the claim that Palestinians and their supporters ‘deny’ Jewish self-determination is false because Zionism was not some benign, innocent nationalism that occurred in a vacuum and not affecting anyone else.

Hum..The brothers case may require a lot more drilling down into. Standing out most is every single person who knew them says this act was totally, totally unlike them…even those who knew them when they lived abroad says this was not them…..that something had to have happen to them for them to turn to terror.
There might be some clues in this article. Did Russia really notify the FBI about the brother or did the FBI make that up and use it on the brother? He was already identified as a’ leader type’ in his community /circle and the FBI or Homeland Security could have sought to set him up as their agent. They pretend they tell HS that he isn’t a threat but get them to withhold his citizenship while they play good cop to HS bad cop and promise to get his citizenship problem worked out if he helps them.
So the brother is getting jerked around and eventually catches on and explodes……and/or…but more complicated and less plausible the FBI realizes they are losing him and sets him up by introducing him into a really radical group they know will feed his growing resentment at being used and jerked around in the US security “game”. This scenario would fit with the family claim that he was in constant touch with the FBI. Also his going from being a pretty straight arrow to….”not understanding Americans, they had no values, not a single friend, etc.”….could also be explained by this. This is beginning to look a little squirrely now.

F.B.I. Interview Led Homeland Security to Hold Up Citizenship for One Brother
    Published: April 20, 2013

Department of Homeland Security officials decided in recent months not to grant an application for American citizenship by Tamerlan Tsarnaev, one of two brothers suspected in the Boston Marathon bombings, after a routine background check revealed that he had been interviewed in 2011 by the F.B.I., federal officials said on Saturday.

    Twitter List: Reporters and Editors
Mr. Tsarnaev died early Friday after a shootout with the police, and officials said that at the time of his death, his application for citizenship was still under review and was being investigated by federal law enforcement officials.

It had been previously reported that Mr. Tsarnaev’s application might have been held up because of a domestic abuse episode. But the officials said that it was the record of the F.B.I. interview that threw up red flags and halted, at least temporarily, Mr. Tsarnaev’s citizenship application. Federal law enforcement officials reported on Friday that the F.B.I. interviewed Mr. Tsarnaev in January 2011 at the request of the Russian government, which suspected that he had ties to Chechen terrorists.

The officials pointed to the decision to hold up that application as evidence that his encounter with the F.B.I. did not fall through the cracks in the vast criminal and national security databases that the Department of Homeland Security and the F.B.I. review as a standard requirement for citizenship. The application, which Mr. Tsarnaev presented on Sept. 5, also prompted “additional investigation” of him this year by federal law enforcement agencies, according to the officials. They declined to say how far that examination had progressed or what it covered.

The handling of Mr. Tsarnaev’s application could be crucial for the Obama administration in the Senate debate that began this week over a bipartisan bill, which the president supports, for a sweeping immigration overhaul. Some Republicans skeptical of the bill have said they will watch the Boston bombings investigation to see if it reveals security lapses in the immigration system that should be closed before Congress proceeds to other parts of the bill, including a path to citizenship for illegal immigrants.

The record of the F.B.I. interview was enough to cause Homeland Security to hold up Mr. Tsarnaev’s application. He presented those papers several weeks after he returned from a six-month trip overseas, primarily to Russia, and only six days after his brother, Dzhokhar A. Tsarnaev, 19, had his own citizenship application approved. Dzhokhar Tsarnaev is in custody and is in serious condition in a hospital.

Late last year, Homeland Security officials contacted the F.B.I. to learn more about its interview with Tamerlan Tsarnaev, federal law enforcement officials said. The F.B.I. reported its conclusion that he did not present a threat.

At that point, Homeland Security officials did not move to approve the application nor did they deny it, but they left it open for “additional review.”

Tamerlan Tsarnaev’s record also showed that he had been involved in an episode of domestic violence in 2009. His father, Anzor, said in an interview on Friday in the Russian republic of Dagestan, where he lives, that Tamerlan had an argument with a girlfriend and that he “hit her lightly.”

Under immigration law, certain domestic violence offenses can disqualify an immigrant from becoming an American citizen, and perhaps expose him to deportation. But the Homeland Security review found that while Mr. Tsarnaev was arrested, he was not convicted in the episode. The law requires a serious criminal conviction in a domestic violence case for officials to initiate deportation, federal officials said.

Both Tsarnaev brothers came to the United States and remained here legally under an asylum petition in 2002 by their father, who claimed he feared for his life because of his activities in Chechnya. Both sons applied for citizenship after they had been living here as legal permanent residents for at least five years, as the law requires’’

Could those CRAFT men have been his handlers and those bomb sniffing dogs made him believe he was indeed part of a drill? Oh, and how did 2 guys, with 2 backpacks plant [at least] 4 bombs. Remember, 2 did not explode. Did they carry mini rice cookers from China in maxi backpacks from Timberland or what?

As with 9/11, the stench of coverup/s, misdirection, misinformation and half-truths is overwhelming.

Why haven’t we seen an actual picture of the brothers ‘depositing’ their backpacks by the finish line?

And why are two israeli doctors treating the surviving brother in a Boston hospital?

Well that Israeli doctor makes me parnoid now about zionist medical professionals in the US. He’s more like a ‘spokesperson for Israel ‘ than a objective doctor. …he’s interviewed about his suspect patient and all he talks about is terror attacks in Israel and how they treat the terrorist the same as Israeli wounded? Me thinks he belabors that point a bit too much……and after all we’ve seen of how Palestines and prisoners are treated…I don’t believe it.

        Taxi, Great link.

Why is it not so surprising that the Yahoo story moved from speaking to the Israelis about the similarities of treating victims in Boston to treating victims of terrorist attacks in Israel, to Oren and Indyk doing more specific Israeli hasbara, which had nothing to do with medical treatment.

The writer Sharona Schwarz has an article today of a supposedly anti-Israel gaff by Kerry in Turkey.

        These people never sleep.

It originated from AP reporters…you haven’t caught onto AP yet?
Think NYT on Iraq propaganda—-then think AP on pushing the radical Islam bogga bogga.
They been doing this for years.

Terrorism in America is uniformly condemned when Muslim’s are the perpetrators. They’re condemned for their violent acts and for their religion. Their primary motives aren’t discussed. Not so when Americans are responsible for domestic acts of terrorism. In the 90’s I remember being in a bar where there was a news story on the TV about Mc Veigh and the Okla. City bombing which had taken place in the previous year or two. I made a comment about Mc Veigh to a stranger standing next to me, saying something about him being a “crazy nut”. He replied, “He wasn’t all wrong, you know.” I don’t think he was alone in his opinion. Likewise, there was sympathy for Eric Rudolph when he was a fugitive on the run for having bombed the Atlanta Olympics. At the time, some of his “fans” wore t-shirts that read, “Run Rudolph Run”.
In the cases of both Mc Veigh and Rudolph there was some popular sympathy for their widely discussed motives by people who agreed with their views on Waco and abortion. However, more than 44 years after the first acts of violence were committed against American citizens on the part of Arabs and Muslims because of our support for Israel we have yet to see a truthful discussion of their motives. We’re still being told explicity or by inference that “they hate us becuase we’re free” and because they’re Mulims. How many more lives will be lost to this insanity? How many more trillions of dollars will be flushd down the “national security”crapper in defense of this criminal farce?

Besides this bombing and subsequent manhunt having spawn even more [Muslim] hatred, something else, and evenly sinister, has seen the light of day. Welcome our newly born, liberty-free, fully militarized, urban warfare zone. Don’t miss the pictures.

Perhaps this will also help in understanding how Oswald felt, the moment JFK’s brain was shot out.

@Sumud, for your information The Age has run an article today about Hizb ut Tahrir who don’t want Australian Muslims to ‘celebrate’ Anzac Day, a national commemoration day that is probably Australia’s most important national occasion. It marks the anniversary of the first major military action fought by Australian and New Zealand forces during the First World War.

Muslims keep having to defuse the Muslim threats and intimations from other Muslims that go against the grain of our society. No surprise that people are getting more and more upset by Islam.

The Israeli papers reveal that Israelis are saying the Boston Bombings are making Americans support Israel even more. Remember what Bibi Netanyahu let slip, right after 9/11? Anyway, here’s some personal data about the suspects mother–from a young woman who went to her for facials during her high school and college years:

Well two groups wll get a boost out of this—–the NYPD can go back to profiling Muslims and spying on mosques—–and Israeli officials are already savoring the increased support for Israel they think this will bring them.

Boston bombing will boost U.S. support for Israel, says Netanyahu aide
WATCH: More Americans identify with Israel after terror attacks, says Ron Dermer, possible next Israeli envoy to Washington, to U.S. Jewish leaders.
    By Barak Ravid | 15:33 21.04.13 | 50

Ron Dermer, a diplomatic advisor to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and candidate for the post of Israeli ambassador to Washington, told a closed meeting of U.S. Jewish leaders in New York last week that the Boston marathon bombings would increase American support for Israel – just as that support increased following the attacks on Sept. 11, 2001.”

    CNN Breaking News Update

Two men arrested and charged Monday were part of an al Qaeda-supported plot to derail a passenger train, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police said.

The suspects, Chiheb Esseghaier and Raed Jaser, are accused of conspiring to kill people on a VIA train, police said. Officials said that the suspects had the capacity to carry out an attack but that the public was never in imminent danger.

The two men were receiving support “in the form of direction and guidance” from al Qaeda elements in Iran, police said. They are not Canadian citizens.

I guess we’ll be getting our Iran war on soon.
