Over 100 celebrities have signed an open letter criticizing the Israeli government for designating six Palestinian human rights groups as terrorist organizations. The letter calls on the international community to push for the designation to be rescinded.
“The vital work of these six organizations to protect and empower Palestinians and hold Israel accountable for its gross human rights violations and apartheid regime of institutionalized racial discrimination is precisely the work that Israel is trying to end,” reads the letter. “Israel’s designation of these six Palestinian organizations as ‘terrorist’ groups, and the military order that outlaws them places the safety of the organizations and their staff at imminent risk.”
Signatories include Peter Gabriel, Mark Ruffalo, Richard Gere, Susan Sarandon, Tilda Swinton, David Byrne, Jim Jarmusch, Laura Poitras, Julie Christie, Philip Pullman, Brian Eno, Roger Waters, Ken Loach, Yanis Varoufakis, Laurie Anderson, Thurston Moore, Alfonso Cuaron, Costa Gavras, Irvine Welsh, Simon Pegg, Jarvis Cocker, Rashid Khalidi, Naomi Klein, and the band Massive Attack.

In October Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz claimed that Addameer, Al-Haq, Defense for Children International – Palestine, the Bisan Centre for Research and Development, the Union of Palestinian Women’s Committees, and the Union of Agricultural Work Committees were all connected to terrorism. Earlier this month Israeli officials presented the Biden administration dossier that allegedly proved these charges. However, +972, Local Call, and The Intercept obtained copies of the documents and reported that they contained no such proof.
“The threat of retaliation is real, and puts at risk not just the organizations themselves, but the entire Palestinian civil society and the tens of thousands of Palestinians they serve everyday,” concludes the letter. “To this end, we call on all persons of conscience across the globe to stand with us. We call on the international community to #StandWithThe6 and protect Palestinian human rights defenders, and demand that Israel rescind the terrorist designations immediately.”
It seems the entire world knows Israel’s ugly games, and its efforts to continue silencing human rights agencies, and also in trying to continue inflicting pain and suffering on the Palestinians every evil way they know how. The question is, what are the US, UK, and the EU, Israel’s staunch supporters going to do about it?
The majority in the world knows that Israel is not the victim in the situation, it is the aggressor, the only “democracy” in the Middle East that has occupied for over 50 years, keeps stealing lands, building illegal settlements, and killing unarmed civilians, and has the most number of UN resolutions against it.
So what will Biden, Blinken, the proud Americans who call themselves zionists, in congress and in the political arena do? We are waiting…
Israel is incensed that these groups have provided testimony in the ICC’s investigation of Israel’s war crimes. Criminalizing, and terrorizing, these groups is a desperate and ill-fated attempt to make the investigation go away. However, like much of what the Zionists do these days, their attempt here is backfiring. Instead of making all of this go away, Israel’s behavior has increased international focus on its oppressive behavior.
Israel has painted itself into a corner once again. Unfortunately, when something like this happens to the Jewish state, its behavior, like that of a spoiled rotten child, typically gets even worse.
Just sit back and await the inevitable arrival of the zio attack dogs (apologies to all dogs) such as moronut and may ahem , jons aka foreign invader, et al paid propagandists and professional liars.
These brave people will be cut to shreds and international awards summarily negated.They will go from internationally acclaimed artists to minor actors and second rate entertainers.
Of course the opinions of zio apologists wont garner too many awards, except maybe –the equivelant of the raspberry awards .
And as usual…israel doesn’t give a fig. On the contrary, israel will try to smear these people standing up for Palestinian rights. One day there will be a very steep price to pay, israel…
