Your year-end donation to Mondoweiss will be instantly doubled!

As we approach the end of the year, even in the face of so much suffering, I believe we will look back on 2021 as a significant year for Palestinian human rights making incredible progress despite unrelenting attacks. The flashpoints of change were all years in the making and Mondoweiss has covered them from the beginning for you by providing a megaphone for Palestinians and their allies. Please help us continue this important work by making a donation today that will be matched dollar for dollar.

Writing for Mondoweiss has had ever-refreshed meaning for me not just because we have worked for the liberation of Palestinians, and worked against militarist American policy, but because I feel I am working to redeem my community from a long nightmare: its commitment to militant nationalism. And I am incredibly thankful that your support allows me and our entire staff to continue in this crucial task.

People in Gaza love to tell our stories. As Mondoweiss’s Gaza correspondent, I find that every door is open for my questions, and it is a true honor to try to faithfully and clearly explain what life is like in Gaza to the rest of the world. Please help Mondoweiss continue to tell Palestinians’ stories with a year-end gift today.

Make a huge investment in Gaza reporting

As Mondoweiss has grown over the last 15 years we’ve had a number of landmarks, but none gives us greater pleasure than to announce this news: We’ve hired a full time Gaza correspondent, the great young writer Tareq S. Hajjaj!

As Tareq begins his position with us, our focus is on making sure we can back him and his work to the absolute highest degree. We need your help to do that. By Sunday we are hoping that 100 Mondoweiss readers will step up as new monthly donors – and a group of generous donors has agreed to match your entire first year of donations.

During its attack on Gaza in May, Israel destroyed the offices of APA Images, the photo agency that Mondoweiss relies on to give you the news from Palestine. Today, we are proud to announce that we are joining with our friends at The Electronic Intifada and the Middle East Children’s Alliance to raise funds to replace APA’s destroyed equipment, and promote journalism in Gaza.

Yumna Patel says that she is so proud that, because of readers like you, she is able to share with the world in real time what is really happening on the ground in Palestine. Through August 1st, Roger Waters and another anonymous donor have pledged to match up to $50,000. Will you step up now, during this critical summer match, and support Mondoweiss today?

The campaign to get Ben & Jerry’s to leave Israel began in 2013, and we were covering it back then. Because one of the key reasons Mondoweiss exists is to amplify brave, creative campaigns that start small — and sometimes, like this week, shock the world. Please donate today and we’ll turn it into more fearless coverage of the movement for justice in Palestine.

Haidar Eid writes from Gaza: “I’ve learned that in this freedom struggle, we are fighting for something basic: to be treated as humans whose truth deserves to be heard. Today, Mondoweiss needs your help to do just that.” Mondoweiss is powered by its readers — people like you.
