The world is justly alarmed by the treatment of Ukrainian civilians under Russian occupation. It should also pay heed to the Palestinian experience of Israeli military occupation in Hebron, where schoolchildren are detained at checkpoints and stun grenades hurled at journalists. The Campaign to Defund Racism, a broad coalition of Palestinian organizations and international allies, has called for our international supporters to challenge the laws that allow charities to underwrite our dispossession and erasure.

Palestinians in Hebron call on the international community to join in the Dismantle the Ghetto campaign and take action to evacuate Israeli settlers from the city.

A recent US military visit to the illegal Jewish settlement in occupied Hebron shows that the Biden administration is legitimizing the occupation and accepting the one-state reality that is Israel/Palestine. Palestinians were not included in the visit, and the army host was settler Noam Arnon — who has called Jewish terrorists “heroes” — and whose settler cohort are not interested in peaceful coexistence but in military domination of the occupied Palestinians.

Rabbi Michael Davis sought to further his Arabic studies by visiting his teacher in Hebron. She took him to the armed Jewish-Israeli settler encampment in the heart of the Palestinian city. “Despite the show of military force, the hospitality of my hosts reminded me: an outstretched hand provides greater security than all the guns in the world.”

Six Palestinian human rights activists were targeted by spyware from the Israeli surveillance company NSO Group, a new report revealed on Monday, in the first reported instance of Palestinian activists being targeted by the surveillance company. The six activists are all members of the six Palestinian civil society organizations recently branded “terrorist organizations” by Israel’s Defense Minister Benny Gantz.
