PETA has praised Israel for becoming the first country to ban the sale of most furs, but Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza have seen Israel target animals during military incursions.

Vegans for BDS, a group of Palestinian and North American vegans and environmentalists, stand in solidarity with the indigenous Palestinian people, recognizing that the Israeli military occupation of Palestine harms the land, people, and animals there every day.

Sarah Doyel says that if you’re vegan, Israel looks like paradise. But make no mistake: Israel is using veganism as a calculated facade to gloss over the occupation of Palestine, and appropriate regional culture and traditions.
