‘Huffington Post’ gives space to yet another Likudnik apologist

Lanny Davis on Huffpo this morning, saying Netanyahu is a man of peace. I'll update when I get around to reading it. Have to steel myself.

Lanny Davis was on Ed Schultz's TV show on MSNBC just a couple of nights ago, arguing against the Employee Free Choice Act.

Gotta represent all those vested interests.

  2. Amnon says:

Last December Huffington Post got $25 million in funding from Oak Investment Partners, which is also invested in the Israeli arms industry.

Yeah, read Lanny's column last week before it was recycled (amplified?) on HuffPo. I used to have some respect for Lanny when he was Bill Clinton's apologist over Monicagate, since he is a brilliant debater. But he went over to the intellectually dishonest dustbin right after the Gaza war when he was enlisted by "The Israel Project" to lend his name and expertise to obfuscating the truth about the war crimes and atrocities committed by the IDF.

The result is a series of weekly, stomach-churning hasbara-larded columns in which Lanny decries a "double-standard" against Israel for "defending itself". link to washingtontimes.com

Or he makes patently false statements, such as "Israel's Defense Forces (the IDF) indisputably went to great lengths to minimize civilian casualties [in Gaza]." link to huffingtonpost.com

I didn't agree with Lanny during the Clinton years, but I used to marvel at his cool demeanor and verbal acuity during otherwise acrimonious debates on MSNBC. Now I'm saddened to see him use his gifts to in an intellectually dishonest effort to minimize the war crimes of the IDF.

I'm sure Netanyahu would be a man of peace once he completed the ethnic cleansing of Palestine. Hitler would have been a man of peace too, once the world was rid of all those people he didn't like.

Didn't George Dubious Bush declare Ariel Sharon a "man of peace". The bar has already been set remarkably low.

  6. Jacqueline_Hyde says:

But peace is the only honest thing these gonifs ever utter:

You, be at peace; I'll suit myself.

  7. Jim Harris says:

The very first day of Huffington Post in May 2005 featured Daniel Pipes, one of the most extremist anti-Arab/Muslim ideologues on the planet. It was a very bad sign.

Fortunately, there have been much better material posted there, so at least there is some variety.

As Justin Raimando has referred to Huffington Post “Israeli occupied territory”
