moment!
Pretty exciting, huh? Sounds like a carney barker outside the bearded lady's tent. But my problem is I made a solemn deal with Norman Finkelstein the other day that I wasn't going to read Jeffrey Goldberg for a day, or a week, or a year. We didn't agree on the terms.
So I can only read Dan Fleshler's post about Goldberg, which says that per Goldberg, dual loyalty is about to become an issue; because Israeli and U.S. interests now diverge with respect to Iran, at last.
Goldberg's a day late and a dollar short. The interests diverged a long time ago, certainly with the Iraq war, which Goldberg supported with (negative) landmark journalism. By anticipating dual loyalty issues, this former soldier for Israel seeks to immunize himself against the allegation, retrospectively.
I would review ANY commitment you made to anyone to self-censor. How dare you or Norman Finkelstein lecture anyone on self-censorship. I'm sure that it was a joke between the two of you.
Great! If we can get Jewish dual loyalty issues in regards to foreign nations out of the way, can we then start to discuss Jewish loyalties and interests within the United tates? Unfortunately, I don't see either topic being handled openly and honestly.
Hey, Phil, LOL! You can't stop reading Jeffrey Goldberg, any more than he can stop checking Mondoweiss compulsively throughout the day. Let's acknowledge it here and now: you are the other side of the coin of Goldberg — you're the country's most important journalist on the issue of I/P from the realists/progressive perspective.

"dual loyalty is about to become an issue" Dual loyalty always was an issue for sages like Pat Buchanan and also for generally anti-war conservatives (whom the GOP rejected long ago.) Their comprehension of the kind of Communism historically practiced by its Jewish wing helped them to see the writing on the wall, which was basically that American Jewish Zionists were bringing militant liberal internationalism to the Statist warmongering cause (and military industrial complex) from the Left. The Iraq war was essentially the train wreck they saw coming, but were helpless to stop. Most Americans thought they knew better, you see, both about the nature of profiteering Jewish Statists, and about the nature of Big Government. How greedy and gullible they were. How greedy and gullible they still are.

Obviously, a lot more Jews have been involved in Zionist subversion of the USA, but really only the big shots count, and for the most part the lemmings can be amnestied as long as they start rejecting and denouncing Zionism and the State of Israel within a reasonable time frame.
