  • Help Mondoweiss continue to push Israel/Palestine into the mainstream
    • Last time I searched via Google, Christian evangelicals in the USA numbered 31 million. This does not even include say, my email friend Rose, who sends me Youtube videos from "the voice of orthodox Roman Catholicism" network. They believe in a Christian version of Natural Law divorced from from the origins of the Greek concept of natural law, that is, reason, embellished by faith since man is not capable of understanding God's and God's will and methods. Not that such folk ever studied the roots of classical philosophy/morality. Anyway, I can tell you from emailing back and forth with my Christian fundy pals, they equate abortion with the Holocaust and anything ever done to the Palestinians, for example. They wonder why I am so obsessed with Palestinian lives and US foreign policy while the US, including the US government of all three branches does not protect and strive to help the on-going massacre of "children in the womb."
They would never bother to come to Mondoweiss blog. Facts mean nothing in the face of God's word via Jesus. As i've been told, "You can send any facts you want and it won't change my mind."

    • Danaa, here's the latest from my fundy email friend; how would you respond to it:

"I have answered you . You either do not accept what I have to say or you are ignoring me. So I see no point to repeating myself. You are entitled to your opinion as I am entitled to mine. I do understand what you are saying, I do not agree and never will, so no matter how many facts you through at me it is not going to change my mind. Our only hope is Christ and until we all except that, there will be Palestine's and Israel around; each taking their turns at being the bad guys. You don't have to like it or agree. I know I have told you this before but your seem to be obsessed with changing my mind. I believe my perspective in broader then yours, I am also considering the spiritual realm and eternity as well as the here and now. So you are not going to see what I am looking at. I think I am going a lot further back in history then you too. Yes you are very intelligent and yes you have a heart for the Palestine, I get it!"

    • Until such a time when Christians feel that the Jews and Muslims are ready to live with a Christian America, it is absolute stupidity to negotiate with the Jews about what type of execution is to be carried out against Christians.

    • Colin, you must not have tried hard, very hard, and repeatedly, to undermine support for Israel by Evangelicals, as I have--and always failed. Just can't penetrate. Neither by facts or by using biblical scripture countering theirs.

    • I did not mean to imply only Jews appreciate irony; but irony depends on "inside awareness/knowledge" not available to the newbie. I know lots of German Americans, especially in rural NY/PA, who say little, but when they do it's very ironical and totally escapes the city crowd who often have summer places in the local region.

    • I dunno--sometimes Mooser hits the mark, sometimes he does not. Hostage, for one, is more erudite, tenacious, and more effectively counters hasbara bots here. Mooser's humor may entertain at times, and sometimes gets right to the psychic point, but the hasbarabots could care less about that--and they infest here to divert topics and dish out grand lies newbies coming here may never have dealt with before. Mooser's input assumes a lot of knowledge about the I-P affair, and being Jewish generally--he depends on irony. Hasbarabots ignore irony. They are always after fresh naive meat.

    • Americans here should know that giladg's version of Israeli creativity is bogus; here's a few snippets more objectively revealing Israel's "creative" nature:

"The FBI launched an investigation into how AIPAC obtained and circulated copies of the classified report during the most critical negotiation period. The ITC confirmed in 2008 that the Israeli government also obtained a copy of the classified report. Industry groups such as the US Bromine Alliance obtained verification from the ITC on November 1, 1984 that all of their most closely guarded trade secrets had been obtained by AIPAC (see appendix).
In the following quarter century Israeli manufacturers and the Israeli government have continued to systematically violate US IP rights. In the case of American military and defense systems, Israel has a long history of reverse engineering, copying, manufacturing and exporting unauthorized versions of US systems. In doing so, Israeli manufacturers have not only deprived American manufacturers of revenue and US workers high paying jobs, but also negatively altered the strategic and tactical military balance of power. US taxpayers who subsidized the research, development, and deployment costs for weapons have witnessed the tragedy of US military personnel facing weapons on the battlefield from illicitly manufactured Israeli systems obtained by rogue states."
      ------------
"The American pharmaceutical industry has recently faced systemic industry-government violations of IP rights in the form of an ongoing IP “trap” in which confidential clinical dossiers are purposely misused. While US pharmaceutical industry representatives insisted that Israel remain on the USTR Priority Watch List for the past four years, no effective action has been taken against egregious behavior. The Israeli government regulatory agency solicits patented data and formulas under the auspices of granting approval of drugs for the Israeli market. It delays the approval process while data is obtained by Israeli drug-makers. These manufacturers then commercialize cutting edge US innovations world wide. Israeli IP laws have been purposely weakened and placed out of sync with major industrial countries that all permit longer patent terms so inventors can recoup investments in new drugs before patents expire. The short periods left to recover investments have left US pharmaceutical manufacturers at a major disadvantage to Israeli generic drug manufacturers benefiting from global sales enabled by ever weaker IP protection. US consumers and taxpayers funding medical research are indirectly subsidizing the clinical dossiers upon which Israeli generic drug manufacturers capitalize by selling back into the American market."
      --------------

"Israel's leading duty free export to the American market—precious stones, metals and coins—has grown under the FTA preferences to 20.6% of the total US import demand. But the value chain of Israel's leading export leaves a trail of violence, corruption, and property theft. LLD Diamonds Ltd., owned by Israeli-American Lev Leviev exported $417 million in cut diamonds from Israeli to the US in 2008. Leviev has been cited for human rights abuses in Angola and Namibia where Leviev companies source rough diamonds. Palestinian and Israeli human rights groups have documented how Leviev revenues finance illegal settlement construction in the Israeli occupied West Bank. Leviev's overseas activities not only violate international law, but also US foreign policy initiatives against illegal Israeli colonization. Preferential Israeli access to the US market under the FTA enables LLD Diamond's illicit activities.

In summary, the flawed process that produced the US-Israel Free Trade Area was itself a violation of the IP of American industries. The USTR and ITC are partially culpable for failing to secure sensitive US information that the American Israel Public Affairs Committee and Israel had no right to obtain, possess or utilize. The subsequent pattern of ongoing violations and negative outcomes for American stakeholders place this trade agreement in the column of the types of “failed programs” that President Barak Obama has promised Americans he would reevaluate."

  • Why I am using 'Israel firster' again
    • 4%? Note: The David Project ‏@David_Project
#Tomorrow12 Eizenstat: only 22% of American #Jews place #Israel in top 3 issues when electing a president

Sheldon Adelson donations alone offset hundreds of thousands of small grass roots donors who are not Israel Firsters.

    • Daniel Rich, I'm with you on MJ.

    • The US congress had never had a full and proper investigation of the intentional attack on the intelligence ship USS Liberty by Israelis. Nor has it ever been explained why two groups of US fighter jets were called back when they tried to intervene, nor has the US mainstream media ever admitted it's kept the muzzle on the incident since it was perpetrated.

    • Woody, wouldn't you like to see the list of artful questions used by these polls that come out regularly showing how Americans strongly support Israel? I bet regulars here could come up with some poll questions on the subject that would show support is wafer thin as it is wide. It is all about perceptions, and those perceptions are manipulated, revved up constantly by mainstream media- stink tanks' commission and omission. The engine battery works + Jews/Israel, Peace, and on the other end: -Muslims/Arab/Terror

    • Sin Nombre--did you hear any flack when Bibi got a bigger standing ovation from Congress than our POTUSs get? What gives when the Israel Firsters push for war on Iran as we head for at least another recession, when, in short, they are willing to risk real economic depression combined with a war on a relatively powerful (and yet again, another Muslim) country that is no threat to the US at all, and, indeed, could be a big asset if our diplomats were allowed to actually talk with their Iranian peers? Instead, Obama's pushed in a corner, parroting Bibi's "no containment." And don't even think balance of power.

    • Rusty, I can name one: Sheldon Adelson; he's given over 100 million to Israel, 15 Million to Newt, 10 million to Mitt (so far) and another 10 Millon to 2 superPacs for Israel Firsters, one of them being Eric Cohen's. Adelson has made it clear he's a one agenda guy and that agenda is Israel First, even to the point of saying he wished he had fought in the IDF rather than served in US military way back in the day--and Newt acknowledged Adelson's one note song on primetime TV.

No, they are worse when it comes to female personal rights, but then again, no Arab government is held up by US political leaders as a beacon not unlike the US statue of Liberty use to be, and no Arab state gets so much US tax money, with interest, and no strings attached, so that Israel is the number one beneficiary of US foreign aid in all US history, and actually got that aid increased for next year (I'm talking merely direct aid) while the US economy is in the dumpster.

    • Here's some recent input from PBS show All Things Considered, about the MB candidate (winner?) and the MB generally, here characterized as a proponent of politicized moderate Islam: link to npr.org
Sure is different view than the US TV cable News shows, which characterize the MB as a very dangerous organization, virtually the epitome of evil a la Monica Crowley.

    • Thanks for sharing that info, American. The very conservative Monica Crowley was just on IMUS pushing her new book. She said Mubarak and Gaddafhi were good for the USA, and she said she warned us all ages ago that Mubarak had it right when he told the US that if it didn't support him, they'd get the Muslim Brotherhood, which is a self-declared intense enemy of the US. Imus responded by saying US foreign policy has not changed in ages, and our record shows we support dictators continuously. Crowley then conceded that was true, but it's always a case of if we don't support the tyrants, we get something much worse, like the MB.

Something to consider when putting one's finger to the winds of change in the current Middle East, for example, this article saying it's reasonable to ask, will we being going to war in the ME sometime over this summer? And, the article lays out three powder keg scenarios, involving different aggregates of players--with the only common denominator being Israel: link to jordantimes.com

    • Nothing odd, the USA is against the MB because Israel is against it. SCAF control means Israel doesn't have to worry about that side of its border. Apple pie--with its current Zionist crust.

    • I dunno, Dan, are you saying the Cold War, which actually began before Berlin was captured by Stalin's army, was just an American pretext? If so, for what, exactly? Stalin should not have been feared, you imply? No matter what a regime calls itself, or in fact is, if it goes along with what the US top 1% desire, it will be supported by America? I don't see anyone arguing against that here on MW. Who, for example? Aren't you reading too much into what Ranjit Suresh says?

    • Yeah, there's not much. I found this but all it says is that Obama had Hillary waive the earlier congressional stance a few months ago that renewal of foreign aid to Egypt at that time was conditional on Egypt's transition to a democracy: link to worldnews.msnbc.msn.com

The article says Obama renewed the aid to Egypt before it was clear if Egypt would be a democracy, and he cut that condition because, he said, aid to Egpt was important for America's security. No mention in the article at all re Israel's security--the real main purpose of our aid to Egypt.

    • Best I can come up with is HAMAS--oh, yeah, that was the result of an objective and monitored election.

  • IDF fiction in 'New Yorker' portrays Palestinian demonstrators begging soldiers to shoot them so as to get into papers
    • Go read liberal Zionist Beinhart's latest article on fhe Daily Beast; it's a Zionist whitewash of the factual context of rocket strikes from and to Gaza. It does not even recognize that OP Cast Lead was planned six months in advance by the Israelis, and initiated on Nov 4, by Israeli breaking of the truce in 2008. Ironically, Beinhart characterizes his article as putting context into the most recent Palestinian rocket attacks from Gaza. He gives medicine seeped in poison.

    • See the discussion of the introspective approach in this article, from the same magazine: Why Smart People Are Stupid link to newyorker.com via @NewYorker

    • "They came to me, walking right up the road of theirs we had forbidden them to trod on, begging for me to shoot them, so they could make the back pages of the local rag.
I felt sorry for them--everybody wants something, a Warhol moment--all the modern world begs for that. It was the least I could do. At first I tried to just wing them, so they'd remain alive to see if they made page 5, but they came back, again and again. Until finally I shot them point blank in the forehead. It was the least I could do. I made a few copies of page 5 after that--in case their relatives wanted them. I don't want a reward. I feel much better. I was glad to be of service to mankind. I am a compassionate kind of girl."

  • My wife explains the conflict to a friend
    • So, Mooser, you ranged in the old Catskill resorts, did you?

    • Last I heard, Mooser, Phil's wife is not jewish. Why the yiddish term?

    • Nothing sticky about it, Mooser. Phil gave us the information about his mother's POV. Too much for the Moose?

    • Mooser, in context of my comment, which itself was a response, I said "Jewish Agenda," meaning, as I said, in context of "Zionist enterprise," that is Jewish Zionists. We don't care if you're gay.

    • You mean, Mooser, like "The Israelis," or "The Germans," etc? Yet it's true, my old dog tags say "USA"

    • What ceremony, Mooser? Nobody has to do, or not do anything, of course. Not even a ceremony.

    • Kathleen, I agree with you, for one here.

    • Mooser, your comment is the epitome of inane--schmottas yet--your appeal to Yiddish is even more inane on this blog. But that won't stop you. Not all of here think you're funny. Time to get rid of your Moose costume. It's infantile and a bad smokescreen. We do know you are a romantic in the vein of your self-described family tradition of draft dodging. So what's new?

    • Yeah it was, all in all. Phil's lucky to have such a wife by example. Otherwise, his mother is the example he's emotionally attached to... Anything Phil does or thinks independently sure does not come from his mother.

    • I agree with your observation, Klaus Bloemker. The Zionist enterprise is to use Gentile guilt and short-sighted strategic policy to enhance Jewish agenda, a copy from 19th Century Germany's.

    • Right, Mooser, and so there is no appellation as "the Americans." I get what I think is your point, which is that nobody speaks for all jews. The same can he said for what we hear daily, when US politicians speak for "we, the people" or America; yet the US regime does what it does in our name, in the name of all Americans, within USA borders (not quite the same as ) Israel does what it does in the name of all jews everywhere in the world.

    • But the difference, Phil, is that you read MW comments, and so, know more than your wife--unless, your wife reads your blog regularly. Does anyone here get the impression Phil's wife read his blog regularly from what Phil, rarely, says about what she says about the situation? I sure do not get that impression.

    • Really, sardelapasti, give us an example of these censored frames of reference?

    • I told folks here my socio-economic and ethnic background. I asked if others would provide their's. Only Dan C responded. Perhaps that is telling. Annie has told us about hers. Anybody else among the regulars commenters here? American may have also done so... We all know Phil's, pretty much. Anybody else want to pitch in as to what petri dish they come from?

    • Yeah, you're so funny Mooser I forgot to laugh. Your "criminal career" is not in the least akin to what I said in my comment, nor did your comment have any affinity to the subject matter of what I said. Don't worry, we already know you were a draft dodger during the Vietnam war, not of any ethics or morality, but simply because, as you said, it was a family tradition to dodge the draft no matter what host country your ancestors landed in. You're just a chip off that old block. I sympathize with you to the extent every country needs knee-jerk draft-dodgers. I actually think America needs more of them. Oh yeah, there's no draft in USA anymore. So, hey, I agree with you that the US military is just like the Hessians who fought anywhere just to pay their family bills. Why don't you tell us, Mooser, about your criminal career? What crimes did you commit? Lucking out in not getting your draft number pulled during the Vietnam War era, when, as you've said, you were ready to run to Canada? Hey, I understand, my father in law left "white Russia" to avoid conscription. And my own Irish-German dad always told me if you enlist in the US military you are nothing but "cannonfodder." I agree. Nothing criminal about that. Don't really get where you disagree with me, my comments. Why don't you tell the regulars here? You can even use your often less than funny schtick to do so.

    • Yeah, I suspect you are right Keith. I don't know a single blue collar worker who even knows about Mondoweiss, or would care if you directed him her to it. If it helps, I've been working since I was age 8, and I worked in steel mills in Chicago, and for Manpower Inc, and for fly-by-night building wall cleaners, just for a few examples, and I was grunt, literally a peon in the US combat engineers, and I am a regular here. Anybody else here have such a background?

    • So, Klaus, how do you respond when faced with that reply? Do you go into factual details how the Jewish refugees were arrogant, aloof, controlling, and unneighborly, rather than what they should have been: grateful?

    • Thanks for the added info, Ellen. Please send your sources the Jews were not simply kicked out of so many nations, such as Spain, but more were given privileged exit the natives did not get when the clamp down flourished on dissent.

    • Not to mention those replanted pine trees (that need a lot of scarce water) shipped from overseas for years with the coins from those white and blue cans always stuck in my face when I lived in Skokie, Illinois.

    • optimistCitizen, that's how I took what Phil's wife said too. She just didn't have the exact partition plan percentages in her head. An example of what Phil means when he says his wife does not carry around the facts or trees, but she always sees the aerial view of the forest very well.

    • dbroncos, ditto here--except I am luckier because one of my sisters and my brother are well aware, and educated on the I-P conflict and US "special relationship" with Israel and what it has woven, and continues to weave. Otherwise, I get the same attitude on the subject if I dare to bring it up, or, I simply get ignored.

    • Here's a bunch of photos of Gaza under attack today: link to facebook.com

I don't know a single person personally who I could get to look at these photos.

    • Yep, as simple as, "We need to defend Israel at all costs because only Israel is an insurance policy against the natural-born Jew Haters that arise in every generation of Gentiles in every country."

PS: Would the Jews have survived as a people over so many centuries without an IDF if no Gentiles ever helped them? They got kicked out, they went elsewhere, over and over again. Usually, where they went gave them more protection and opportunity than the average native.

The very notion of a mere handful of "righteous gentiles" has to be the biggest insult ever. The test of virtue is power. Israel is giving a great example of how Jews help their Gentile brothers when the Jew has the power.

    • YoungMassJew, I imagine if you called Israel a fascist state it won't bother your educated uncle since he'd immediately conjure up Hitler's Germany or Mussolini's Italy and so he'd laugh inside at anyone who's say Bibi & Israel are the same. Did you ever ask him what he thought of the settlements expanding since 1967? What if you told him that looks like lebensraum to you? Perhaps he realizes the flotilla murders happened on the neutral high seas, and that the blockade is collective punishment? Or did he read that those boat members were executed? Ask him, "Why doesn't Fox news ever bring up the illegal settlements issue?" And, "Fox news pundits are saying we should lean on Syria for its mistreatment of dissent, but why don't they ever talk about the Bahrain regime's on-going treatment of dissenters--and why is it ok that Saudi Arabia sends troops there to protect that regime, while Fox News pundits are always castigating Iran for alleged indirect helping Assad?

    • I agree, Kathleen. I think Phil's wife grasped the nub of the rub, but, gee Allison Weir really has made a crib sheet of basic facts it doesn't take long to review, certainly not long from Wife's "upper crust" magazine work. I respect Weir immensely. There's a handful of smart and ethical/moral old-timers on this I-P scene in America that have labored in the hidden vineyards for so long now.... If there's any who should sit at the right hand of a just god in heaven, it's Ms Weir.
Phil's Weiss's wife does seem to be a bit of a snob in the way she gives example of the simple unfairness of it all--then again, she's likely talking to one of her own socio-economic family class and background.... maybe if Phil has a maid, if his wife spoke to her on the subject she would use a different example from her time spent over there? Like maybe that little Palestinian boy (and his parents?) Phil mentioned his wife struck up a relationship with when they were there? Phil wrote an article about that here on this blog.

  • The betrothal ritual
    • "The whole of Germany was swept up in this esoteric wave, and youth more than anyone. The peculiarly nineteenth-century phenomenon, spiritualism, and its more "scientific" variation, Theosophy, in Germany were welded together with a mystical concept of the Volk as a people whose collective "soul" was more than the sum of its parts. This Aryan "soul," Germans believed, united the individual German to his geographical place. Every tree and rock of German soil was holy, and spoke to the people, shaping them and causing their creativity."

    • ritzl, MSNBC, and the liberal mainstream press has been shouting to the rafters, along with some parts of Obama's campaign elite, saying we have to do something about the Supreme Ct decision and superPACs, but they limit their protest, and sales campaign to obvious domestic issues where they are contra to the GOP, e.g., implied in the Democratic campaign's sequential attacks on the GOP as 1) anti-female; 2) anti gay; 3) anti Latino; 4) anti labor/union. Obama's gambit to give the offspring of illegal immigrants a way to gain US citizenship is just the latest. But nowhere do I see the Democrats pushing for that other domestic issue, Israel (ever since Truman made it so via Clifford and Niles) in any way different from what the GOP wants a la Mitt. Given the drumbeats for the next war for Israel, that is, war on Iran, only fellows like Sheldon Adelson think Obama is not on the same page as Mitt (or Newt before him).

    • Since Truman himself said so in 1948, the I-P issue has always been treated by US presidents and US Congress as a domestic issue (Jewish votes in key states like NY, Zionist moneybags, Zionist-influenced man media); State Dept & Diplomatic Corps were seen by Clifford and Niles as simply anti-semitic because they insisted it actually was an international issue and following Clifford & Niles & Eddie's advice would result in endless wars in the ME. The recent AIPAC letter to Obama reminds me of the one a bunch of Congressmen sent to Truman just before he signed the letter recognizing the state of Israel. So what's new?

War with Iran will spell the future of the USA and the world every bit as much as Truman's decision in 1948.

    • WJ, this site stands for the proposition two wrongs don't make a right; any way one looks at it, and the Zionist state of Israel, as implemented, and as it continues to exist implementing itself (with US dollars & diplomatic cover) is a dire case example in direct point. Both the writers and regular commenters here have a stake in this big strategic world case, as Jews, and/or Americans, and as humanists. Can't wait for your comment on Zionism. We're all ears since you have characterized us as haters. It's not a mark of genius, let alone a useful and well-meaning attempt at dialogue, to call people bad haters. That should be left on the kiddie playground.

    • @American,
So should the US pressured UN give the Roma people their own state? It's never even appeared in as a wispy thought in the West's head. The sole reason Israel the state exists is because of Zionist big dollars and Jewish media influence. Let's face it, the Roma were on a par with the Jews in terms of historical European victimization, including during the Nazi regime--don't you remember Mengele's experiments with Roma twins? but where has that got them? An American cable TV program on how much the Roma girls like bling and balooning blooming cloth on their wedding dresses? It's not so hard to deduce that the state of Israel is the modern ghetto/pale of Settlement all in one, and it's supported for the same old feudal reasons by the equal of the old feudal Goy elite. The short-shifted peasants will (eventually) have their uprising, even in the USA. Pogroms anyone?

    • Abigail, yes, I agree, and even on a religious or biblical history level, the Palestinians have equal, if not much more, claim to the land since their ancestors were Canaanites.

    • YoungMassJew, Buber said the same thing.

    • "...a big deliverable when you impregnate someone with a great idea."
Yeah, the little girl should swoon.

  • On Syria, Clinton spins a fast one
    • Don't hear anything on cable TV news (the only news in town for most Americans other than local rags for local news) about Saudi Arabia sending troops into Bahrain to out the rebels there (while the US Sixth Fleet looks on). Also, I read Assad is not getting new shipments of Russian attack helicopters. Yet it has some, but they have not been used against the rebels. I also read the USA bought a bunch of them from the same Russian company who sold them to Assad--to give to Afghans (ostensibly) loyal to the USA there.

  • Why hasn't Jonathan Pollard applied for parole?
    • ColinW, also, 29% of Americans are evangelical christians. In my personal experience, these people know nothing about Zionism, nor do they pay any attention to what Israel has been doing to the Palestinian natives for decades--with their tax dollars. Jesus is very much a daily personal buddy of theirs. Basically, Israel/Zion is an icon to them, and the Jews are the chosen people of God's plan (but the evangelicals believe themselves to be the ultimate beneficiaries of said plan). The evangelicals I know have no contact with actual living Jews at all.
The Europeans are the most resistant to evangelical christianity, and the most agnostic people as a whole, worldwide.

The US population of self-described Christians (of any sort) is, if memory serves, 81%.
African countries, such as Kenya, have the highest internal proportion of evangelical christians.

    • Just a side note: Pollard and his new prison buddy Madoff reside in the cushiest prison in the USA. Not bad, considering Pollard gave Israel a map of our missile site defenses against the USSR during the height of the cold war, and he did so knowing Israel would use them as a bargaining chip to get Russia to release Jews to Israel, and Madoff did more than any one man to wreck our finance system. And both did it basically because they were greedy.

    • Abe can just point here to this article declaring Obama's pre-Peres award ceremony stance as "no change" on Pollard simply reflects Obama is anti-semitic:

    • When has the US gone to war to benefit Libya, Lebanon, or Palestinians? Also, the US gives over $6Billion annually to Israel in direct and indirect aid; and, looking at direct aid alone, Israel, the size of a postage stamp, is the biggest recipient of US foreign aid in US history. Congress just cut off a few million dollars to Eastern European countries to help pay for a missile defense system as a way to reduce tax spending, while it simultaneously gave Israel another $1 BILLION for Israel's missile defense system (on top of the usual $3 Billion annually). Israel is not even in NATO.

  • 'J Street' slams Kristol for pushing war with Iran
    • Both US foreign policy and Israeli foreign policy see Iran as the biggest danger in the ME precisely because it's the most independent from both US & Israel.

    • Israel's POV always conflates maintaining and increasing regional hegemony and perceptions of its security. Second strike capability is best if Israel has all the land from the river to the sea. Plus, the bible says all the land is Israel's.

    • Kuncinich wrote a letter dated June 14th, last, to Obama, co-signed by a handful of liberals and Ron Paul, telling POTUS that his signature drone attacks are actually creating more terrorists.

    • Colin Powell was on Diana Reim PBS radio show the other day saying he has not guilt about convincing the American public to war on Iran because, he says, 16 separate American Intell agencies all said Iran had WMD. He adds that Curb Ball's misinformation was not known (at least by him) at the time he made his presentation on TV as prelude to war. OTOH, there's documented evidence German Intell specifically told CIA that there was evidence Curb Ball was not a credible source, and that after receiving this warning, the CIA refrained from going near Curb Ball again as they did not want to know anything that might weaken what Curb Ball had told them, especially about the alleged trucks loaded with poisonous WMD--at Powell's presentation, he pointed to pictures of said trucks, which didn't exist. Now Powell has come out, after Curb Ball has confessed he was telling lies and was surprised and horrified when he saw his lies being used to support and justify war on Iran, has come out demanding names as to who exactly kept evidence of such weakness and conflicting evidence out of the reports he read at his desk. Powell also told Diane he thinks it was a good idea to attack Iran for humanitarian reasons, to save the Iraq people from their tyrannical dictator. Too, he's now an Obama fan.

  • Why is Obama meeting with a man who called him 'Neville Chamberlain'?
    • talknic, here's Finklestein trying to pin down Dershie on plagiarism of misstatement of facts and simple direct misstatement of facts: link to rense.com

    • giladg, I don't understand your comment. The US remains rejected because of its abuse of power and unwillingness to talk to the enemy. Although Obama talks more nicely than Bush Jr did, the creed is in Obama's deeds. His pattern is established. Dershie is simply an outright liar, a spinner of his own hate-filled bipolar vision.

    • Obama does favor cyber war, drones, and NGO infiltration. None of these will bring the Iranian regime to heel, not even when you add all the economic sanctions, including on the central bank of Iran, effective next month. No matter who is in POTUS office, if Bibi decides to attack Iran, under whatever pretext or false flag OP, the US Congress will join Israel with US military might and POTUS will go along.

  • City Council bill introduced to rein in 'out of control' NYPD abuses
    • We have young people living in much worse prisons in America--because they got caught with a little marijuana.

    • There's a reasonable argument based on facts (to be found in the footnotes to the legislation) that the 1965 Immigration bill was powered especially by Jewish groups, and the underlying notion is that the more diversity the better--for Jews; in other words, it was seen by them as insurance the USA will never be taken over by bigoted majority whites a la Nazi Germany. And now... we no longer have a WASP Establishment, but rather one heavily peppered with Jews, so that those colored folks calling for curbs on the NYPD may be viewing NY's Jewish Establishment as "pure white," and to be tackled over their abuse of power. What else are they to think when they take a gander at those Fips-like caricatures of Muslims the NYPD used in training?

  • Medal of Freedom for Shimon Peres maintains White House blind spot on Israel
    • Obama should watch these two videos before he caves in and frees Pollard: link to intelnews.org
Those pushing for release obviously don't give a crap about the fact Israel has never given back all the documents Pollard stole, which was a condition of his light sentence wrought by Derhsie. Further, Pollard never revealed who his spy boss (inter alia) was in our government, nor has he ever apologized. The first video reflects revelations from the Israeli ambassador, the second, an interview with the guy who captured Pollard.
