Michigan mosque backs away from Finkelstein speech under political pressure

Speaking of mosques and the Israeli lobby, Norman Finkelstein was scheduled to speak at two Michigan mosques this past weekend, on "the Gaza Tragedy." His Saturday night gig at the Islamic Association of Greater Detroit (IAGD) went off without a hitch, I am told. The next day, Sunday morning, he was to speak at a mosque in Franklin, MI. The AP had printed the smear that Finkelstein is anti-Semitic, in connection with the events, and my sources inform me that pro-Israel groups complained to Franklin city officials/Franklin mayor about the event and the mosque gave in and the event was moved at the last minute to a hotel. The result was low attendance, only 80 people. Truly pitiable; some day this story will be told to disbelieving children visiting the Nakba museum.
