RoAnn M. Destito, Commissioner
Office of General Services

41st Floor, Corning Tower
Empire State Plaza
Albany, NY 12242

Dear Commissioner Destito:

In compliance with Governor Cuomo’s 2016 Executive Order No. 157, Directing New York State Agencies and Authorities to Divest Public Funds Supporting BDS Campaign Against Israel, we wish to report and confirm that our corporation boycotts all Israeli products and services, and encourages other institutions, companies and individuals to cease and avoid all economic, academic and cultural activity that supports the racist state of Israel until that state dissolves itself, welcomes all Palestinians to return to their homes, restores all of their property and pays damages for the harm it has done to Palestinians and their property.

Please therefore place the Association for Investment in Popular Action Committees, Employer Identification Number 20-5516191, on the Publicly Available List of BDS Assets, as specified in Article II, section A. of Executive Order 157. We note that the law requires you to offer a 90 day waiting period for us to present evidence that our institution does not participate in boycott, divestment, or sanctions activity targeting Israel, either directly or through a parent or subsidiary. We hereby stipulate that we waive this period and do not wish to disprove our participation in BDS activity. Please therefore place the name of our corporation as soon as possible on the list of institutions posted on your website as participating in the BDS Campaign against Israel.

Since Executive Order 157 applies to both parent companies and subsidiaries, please be advised that subsidiaries of the Association for Investment in Popular Action Committees include the Free Palestine Movement, the International Solidarity Movement – Northern California, the Syria Solidarity Movement, the International Committee, the Palestine Children’s Welfare Fund, the One State Assembly, the Arab Women’s Progressive League, NoTaxDollarsToIsrael, and the Solidarity Movement for a Free Palestine, all under EIN no. 20-5516191. Please place all of these names on the List of BDS Assets.

Please also confirm receipt and fulfillment of this request.

Sincerely,

Paul Larudee, Treasurer

Hophm, like other people who say BDS is antisemitic, is a bigot without knowing it. He thinks that a standard nonviolent method that people use to fight for basic human rights is bigoted when used to fight for Palestinian rights. Hophmi only sees the Israelis as fully deserving of human rights and not Palestinians. He would probably defend Israel’s draconian blockade on Gaza, but not a much less stringent boycott of Israeli companies.

    Neat.

We ALSO need one more thing. Maybe some state which has got into trouble (especially if oycotted) over bathrooms for trans-folks could publicly state a boycott of NY over the free-speech issue w.r.t. BDS. Or any group that has conferences could boycott NY. There should be CONSEQUENCES for this atrocious behavior. (Didn’t Cuomo ever read his oath of office?)

“Until that state dissolves itself”. At least they are clear regarding their goal, unlike the bds movement as a whole which takes no position.

avoid all economic, academic and cultural activity that supports the racist state of Israel until that state dissolves itself, welcomes all Palestinians to return to their homes, restores all of their property and pays damages for the harm it has done to Palestinians and their property.

      Exactly!

This is exactly how if was, at least for any people not involved in pussyfooting with Zionists, until the so-called official BDSistas called it off by just replacing “territories occupied” by territories occupied in 1967…

This is exactly how it should be, no matter the BDSistas and Zionist-lite-boycotters and their way of doing things that so pleases Mr Fredman. No matter what Mr Fredman thinks, if the stated goal of a boycott is acceptable to Mr. Fredman it cannot be acceptable!

By the way, the Association for Investment in Popular Action Committees deserves every penny we can spare.

By issuing his Executive Order against BDS of Israel, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo has done more to advance peace in the Middle East than anyone in recent history. For this Executive Order, Governor Andrew Cuomo should receive the Nobel Peace Prize.

      Let’s be honest Steve –
deep down, you’re hoping the Nobel PP will be awarded to (tag-team) Cuomo/Grover.

      And peace ?
      Maybe later,
      maybe not …

And the murdered Palestinian children ?

Stephen Salaita shared a post on his facebook page suggesting that people take selfies of themselves boycotting Israeli goods and send them to Cuomo asking to be boycotted in turn. Should be fun!

I got an email asking me to tell Cuomo that I would boycott New York State. Can’t do that — already got tickets for the Old Songs Folk Festival. But I WILL wear my FREE PALESTINE t-shirt, that says BOYCOTT ISRAELI PRODUCTS on the back. And my button that says JEWS AGAINST THE OCCUPATION.

BTW: It occurs to me that if the boycott takes off, as I think it will, Israel will be eager to label settlement products, in the hope that people would boycott only settlement products, not everything from Israel. By then it will be too late.

People have asked me if I want to see Israel destroyed. I say no: I just want to see regime change.
