In a dangerous precedent, the House of Representatives passed a controversial bill equating anti-Zionism with antisemitism. Pro-Israel lawmakers quickly followed with a bill to establish a congressional commission aimed at Palestine solidarity.

Israel’s assault on Gaza has recommenced and the United States has remained steadfast in its backing. But there are signs the Biden administration is becoming increasingly uncomfortable.

Israel has larger war aims than Hamas, and is deliberately provoking a regional war to draw the U.S. into the fray. Biden has made halfhearted efforts to cool the situation, but he needs to be bolder in reining Israel in before it’s too late.

Gaza has proven that the United States’ blind support of Israel is incompatible with its broader foreign policy agenda.

The reason so many people are puzzled about the Biden administration’s strategy or vision in Gaza is because it has neither. 

The Biden administration has already aided and abetted the Israeli destruction of Gaza. Now the U.S. appears to be prepared to fund the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians from Gaza.

Joe Biden is overseeing perhaps the most spectacular policy failure in Palestine and Israel in U.S. history. His embrace of Benjamin Netanyahu will be remembered as a symbol of how much he weakened U.S. standing in the region.

The Biden administration could restrain Israel from carrying out possibly genocidal plans in Gaza. Instead it is egging them on.

The U.S. has made it clear it will work with Israel to thwart any hope for Palestinian freedom. In response, the Palestinian resistance is doing the only thing it can to demonstrate Palestine will not be buried.

The Biden administration has shifted into high gear to promote a normalization deal between Israel and Saudi Arabia. As with past Abraham Accord agreements, it is simply a way to sell a massive military upgrade as a “peace deal.”
