Ayelet Shaked, Israel’s rightwing Justice Minister, posted a commentary calling Palestinian children “little snakes” that must be rubbed out with many other elements of Palestinian society; now she’s at NY’s Center for Jewish History, along with several other Zionists, Bret Stephens, Seth Siegel and Lawrence Summers. Where’s the opposing view?

“Israel lobby” is a descriptive term, not an expression of bigotry. If Bill Kristol responds to Obama’s statement that Israel is only country publicly to oppose the pact by saying, “All the greater Israel’s glory,” I have a right to say that the Iran Deal opponents care about a foreign country.

Obama has taken on the central points of the Israel lobby argument — a loose coalition of supporters distorts US policy in favor of Israel and played big part in starting Iraq war –and his speech ushers in a period in which American Jews will argue openly about Israel, and that’s a great thing

Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu is reaching out to American Jews to oppose the Iran deal tomorrow. The good thing about the Iran war that the neoconservatives and Netanyahu want is that so many Jews are showing up in favor of the deal. We’re having a vigorous conversation about the influence of the rightwing Israel lobby, and the implicit call for dual loyalty that Zionism depends upon. So Netanyahu’s outreach will cause more American Jews to question whether they really wish to be the buttress of the Jewish state.

Asked at the Council on Foreign Relations what the Iran deal has done for us, Sec’y of State John Kerry reels off everything he’s done for Israel. James Traub’s criticism that this shows the dangerous degree of power enjoyed by Israel supporters in the U.S. is a sign that the lobby is under attack in the mainstream at last.
