A Muslim friend writes from an Ivy League university:
"I was chatting with a security guard at my dorm. The talk was about India/Pakistan/Afghanistan. Then he looked at me and said 'What do we do about Israel?' I think people are watching a televised mass slaughter and though it is

themselves, the bombardment bears all the hallmarks of war crimes."

"Abdulrrahman Wahid, the former Indonesian president, is about as philo-semitic as it gets. He made very pro-Israel
statements years ago, which infuriated some Indonesian Muslims. He''s a
friend of Paul Wolfowitz  who was a former Amb. to Indonesia." He says:

"The violent actions by the Israeli conservatives will never be able to resolve the conflict in the region."
