‘KC Jewish Chronicle’ questions whether I’m Jewish

I'm told that I'm in the Kansas City Jewish Chronicle this week, but not online: editor Rick Hellman's section of this week's Chronicle:

"WITH JEWS LIKE THESE– The anti-Zionist (and allegedly Jewish) blogger Phillip Weiss of New York, also known as Mondoweiss (phillipweiss.org), had a post Jan. 24 that included what he said were excerpts from an e-mail exchange between anti-Israel activist Andrea Whitmore of Fairway, Kan., "Citizens for Justice in the Middle East" and an unnamed Jewish neighbor. Not only are such acrimonious exchanges between Jews and Christians necessary, Weiss writes, but, "… it is essential right now for the Jewish family to break apart over Gaza, and for friends to break with one another over Gaza.""

I like publicity. But this sort of statement, equating Zionism and Judaism, is historically ignorant, and offensive; and one reason that Jewish identity is in crisis in The Wake of the Slaughter of 410 Children. (Also note that the website is wrong, and so is spelling of my name.)
