Under siege, in a war zone–people still struggle to give their children the joys of childhood

I shot a lot of video in Gaza; these are my two favorites. I shot them ten days ago. The first is from the beach in Gaza City; and you need to give that one 40 seconds to get the laugh. The second was shot at the Qattan Centre for the Child, during an after-school gathering of kids; you can watch a few seconds and get the point, or watch all 5 minutes.
The videos are about the resilience of the human spirit. Even in a war zone, where 300 children have lately been slaughtered, the Gazan people see to it that their children experience joy. Palestinians say that the Israelis will never defeat them. But this isn't about Palestinians per se. It is about the human family.
