Jeremy Ben-Ami, who trashed the authors not long ago, says they “crystallized” a change and says that the Jewish community is capable of change on its own. It isn’t. We need help. Walt and Mearsheimer helped. The piece is marred by a number of voices disputing the theory with the usual mystification, that the marriage of Israel and the U.S. took place because of myriad cultural intangible causes.
