Major monthly costs:
Staff: $59,500
Our journalists and editorial team are the strongest assets we have. Mondoweiss provides its staff with fair wages and benefits as they perform an incredibly demanding job.
Technology: $1,100
These costs include the platforms, software apps, and services that allow us safely keep our website running and publish videos, podcast episodes, and our social media content.
Video production: $3,300
Including fact-checking, script writing, translation, and editing. For major projects, we also hire producers, cinematographers, gaffers, and sound technicians.
Freelancers: $2,500
Mondoweiss pays for all freelance writers for all of the news articles we publish beyond what our staff is able to report.
Equipment: $800
Our staff requires up-to-date safety equipment and technology to carry out our written and video journalism. These costs include recording equipment and computers as well as personal protective equipment for reporting in the field.
