Jeet Heer in the National Post of Canada. You heard that right, National Post:
Events like the war in Gaza are likely to intensify the post-Zionism of
young Jews. In the public debate in America, it is striking that the
strongest supporters of Israel tend to be writers like Alan Dershowitz
(age 70), Marty Peretz (also 70) and William Kristol (a sprightly 56).
As against this Geritol brigade, a group of young Jewish writers, many
of them working for progressive think-tanks that are helping to shape
the Obama administration, have been admirably sharp-witted in attacking
the Gaza offensive as a moral and strategic failure.
Heer notes that Spencer Ackerman is 28, Matt Yglesias is 28, Ezra Klein is 24, and Dana Goldstein is 24. Average: 26.

Send Heer an email and thank him. It's a courageous article, given what the National Post is. His email is:
Jeet Heer
sorry, that's jeetheer@hotmail.com
I am 27 and I am a fierce supporter of Israel. My grandparents were survivors of the Holocaust so I have no chance of losing sight of the reality that is anti-semitism unlike many of my American Jewish peers.
The "post-Zionism" movement is an unfortunate symptom of Jewish Guilt and while I understand it, I vehemently disagree with it.
If you, Ben, are for Israel policy, right or wrong–using international
standards (as otherwise, one is left with simply cheering what the
state leaders say, and this applies to any state)–then you have not learned that Never Again applies to all humanity; otherwise, Hitler won.
What exactly do you support so fiercely as to Israel's implemented policies and internal structure?
Ben, kudos to you for being more honest about your Zionism right-or-wrong attitude than some others here.
Let me ask you something:
Are there any other examples you could point to of blood-and-soil ethnic nationalism, replete with mythological racialized history and military expansionism, that you particularly admire or would support, either today or in history?
Just one other example would help me to understand that you're not just another deluded ethnic chauvinist.
Thanks.

In 1925, writing in Mein Kampf, he defined ‘The Big Lie’. He called it a lie so enormous that people “…would not believe that others could have the impudence to distort the truth so infamously.”
delia,
I, too was surprised by the piece by Heer in the National Post, an Asper/Canwest paper of all places.
And I was appalled by an editorial in the Globe earlier this week that characterised Israel's actions in Gaza as "moderate". This from Canada's leading newspaper?
The snippets of CBC radio coverage on the War on Gaza (tm Al Jazeera) I've heard have been pretty tepid.
I would be curious to know more about about how the WoG and the Occupation generally are covered in the MSM there. Is it as bad as States or Australia?
