Kinda like Japan’s Admiral Yamamoto — architect of the Pearl Harbor attack, and a Harvard man to boot — being given free rein to take the Netherlands East Indies afterward.
Admiral Yamamoto avoided a war crimes tribunal because his transport plane was shot down by US fighters in 1943.
Maybe Israel’s General Galant won’t be so lucky in avoiding trial for his crimes against humanity.
I disagree. I think Major General Yoav Galant’s slaughter of 1400 men women and children should be commended. In fact, if it were up to me, I’d give him a promotion and I might even consider throwing in a medal or two.
Anyone who complains clearly doesn’t believe in Israel’s right to defend itself.
Well Avi, you’re sarcasm is indeed biting, but be careful how far the criticism goes here – the staff seems incapable of posting any strong views which demand the disappearance of Zionism. In fact, you probably will not even see this post, just like the last one did not appear here, nor under the heading “The settler killings– morality and effectiveness.” Even though it is the view of some, like Michel Warschawski who has been noted and posted here before – the assumption is clear –
“…the conflict in Palestine is a conflict between two national movements with equal legitimacy.”
This is the assumption inherent in many arguments on this site, and with this Warschawski hits the nail on the head, so to speak.
“Peace is always the reflection of relation of forces when one side cannot impose on the other all that he considers their legitimate rights.”
Peace cannot be achieved under these auspices, that is the auspice of Zionism, it is an impossibility, and this is amply displayed by what we see here in the promotion of Major General Yoav Galant. There must be a total removal of Zionism for anything to be accomplished, in either a one state or so-called two state solution. I quote Warschawski again –
“For us, Zionism is not a national liberation movement but a colonial movement, and the State of Israel is and has always been a settlers’ colonial state. Peace, or better, justice, cannot be achieved without a total decolonization (one can say de-Zionisation) of the Israeli State; it is a precondition for the fulfillment of the legitimate rights of the Palestinians – whether refugees, living under military occupation or second-class citizens of Israel. Whether the final result of that de-colonization will be a “one-state” solution, two democratic states (i.e. not a “Jewish State”), a federation or any other institutional structure is secondary, and will ultimately be decided by the struggle itself and the level of participation of Israelis, if at all.”
The fate of the Palestinian people is tied to the total dismantling and halt of Zionism. Anything else results in the failure of the Palestinian people to achieve liberation, and is blatantly seen in the reward of anyone who crushes the Palestinians with impunity in the Zionist system as seen with Major General Yoav Galant’s promotion here in this post.
Somebody better wake up and smell the coffee, or this will become a site of spurious circular argument, and the naming of this site as an enemy of Zionism by opponents will merely be their election for its continuance – sort of like Bro Rabbit and the brier patch. The fight against South African apartheid resulted in its cessation, not ignoring that it does not deserve to exist and allowing it to continue. You need to understand what you are facing, and stop practicing censorious fears when someone posts something that wishes to get to the heart of the matter. For Warschawski’s quotes –
