I’m pleased to announce that this October, Mondoweiss has the privilege of presenting special guest Ahmad al-Bazz, an extraordinary Palestinian documentary photographer, at two intimate events in the Philadelphia area. We are delighted that Christian-Jewish Allies for a Just Peace in Israel-Palestine is co-sponsoring these gatherings, where those attending can get a unique, eyewitness account of media activism on the ground in Palestine.
A member of the photography collective Activestills, Ahmad is an award-winning video-journalist, photographer and documentary filmmaker based in the West Bank. Ahmad is also a regular contributor to Mondoweiss. At this exciting, behind-the-scenes presentation, Ahmad will show video and photographs, discuss the vision of media activism, and reflect on the current situation in Israel/Palestine.

I’m very excited to represent Mondoweiss at these gatherings — and we also expect Founder Phil Weiss and Publisher Scott Roth to join us! Guests will receive copies of the new 2020 Palestine wall calendar from Mondoweiss. (Can’t attend? The calendar is also available for purchase on our site.)
After Ahmad’s presentation, we’ll have a discussion of how Mondoweiss works and our plans for the future. And we’ll invite you, our readers, to share your ideas on how to maximize Mondoweiss‘s impact for freedom and justice in Palestine. We’ll also ask those present to contribute in support of Mondoweiss.
Our goal is to raise at least $2,000 at each event from all guests combined, with an average gift of $100 per person. If you’d like to be with us but can’t afford to give much, please don’t let that keep you away. Others will step up to help us reach the goal.
All contributions will support our efforts to inform the public of what goes untold in the mainstream media. If you can’t attend, please consider making a gift online.
