Changing public policy for freedom and justice in Palestine requires more people seeing what the mainstream media blacks out. If you agree that change is urgently needed—and that truth-telling journalism is a necessary tool to get to that change—please help increase Mondoweiss’s impact.
We are delighted to share that because of hundreds of generous donations, we not only met but blew past the goal of $90,000 for our year-end campaign, Journalism That Powers Justice. Including the Challenge Fund the campaign total as of today is $150,478 which is almost 50 percent more than any past campaign. We are awed by this tangible vote of confidence from Mondoweiss supporters.
Mondoweiss.net had 12.3 million visits to the site this year, and our top post got 322,000 views and was by Allison Deger, detailing an incident in which German Chancellor Angela Merkel caused Palestinian teen Reem Sawhil to cry with a lecture about unwelcome immigrants in Germany
Three weeks ago, some of our most generous and strategic donors told us they believed we could build a stronger organization—that the community we’ve grown would be ready to push us to the next stage. On the last day of the campaign, and we’re well over 90 percent of our goal! Please help us donate today to help us unlock our $50,000 Challenge Fund.
One of the most important tools we have to change minds and policy regarding Israel/Palestine is video. Here are some highlights of the important video journalism Mondoweiss produced in 2015. We need your help to increase our ability to produce more groundbreaking video in 2016.
What are your most memorable stories of 2015? We are highlighting Interviews That Power Justice, stories published over the past several months that illuminate the life-and-death choices, daily struggles and heroic resistance of life under Israeli occupation. If you agree that the world needs to hear these stories, please contribute today to Mondoweiss’s year-end campaign. With your help, we can reach our goal of $90,000 and unlock the remarkable $50,000 Challenge Fund that can move our work to the next level.
Robyn Brown, one of the four donors who have created a $50,000 Challenge Fund to mobilize maximum support this month for Mondoweiss, explains how she came to Palestine solidarity activism and why she supports Mondoweiss: “My own experience of Israeli disregard for basic human dignity has been part of what brought me to value Mondoweiss and the journalism that powers justice.”
Mondoweiss provides reporting, images, and analysis that brings the reality of the Palestinian people into sharp focus: journalism that powers justice. Four generous donors have assembled a Challenge Fund of $50,000—which will be available to build Mondoweiss if we raise $90,000 by year-end. Please join our challenge donors now in furthering our vital work.
On this #GivingTuesday, we are excited to introduce to the Mondoweiss community our new Director of Development and Outreach, Tova Perlmutter. Tova’s responsibility is to increase Mondoweiss’s income, but also to help connect the members of our community in useful and rewarding ways. Those of you who have met Tova since she started helping us last year cannot fail to notice her warmth, high energy and boundless excitement about building the movement for justice in Palestine. Your support for Mondoweiss on #GivingTuesday will help us continue to bring you in-depth reporting on the fight for Palestinian rights—on the ground, in the U.S., and around the world.
